Sir,

I purchased a Roketa Scooter 250 Touring at the end of June, 2007. I was excited to get the scooter and enjoy my rides to and from work every day. I received the scooter on July 10th, 2007. So the headaches begin.

Assembly was required. The salesman at All New Sports assured me that if I followed the instructions, Id be able to get it assembled and ride it that day. I was shocked at the directions. The pictures did not match what was in front of me. The wording was very crude and difficult to understand. At times, I felt like the directions needed to be translated into American English. I turned the key to start the engine and absolutely nothing happen. Not even a click. I called a motorcycle friend and together we tried troubleshooting the problem. Still, not a click. I called the company to talk to their mechanic. He tried telling me things to do, but as I told him, it was like asking me to do heart surgery on someone when I have absolutely no training in the healthcare profession.

The next day, well within the 7 days of delivery, I called All New Sports with the intention of returning the scooter. The lady was very rude. She said that once the scooter was out of the shipping crate, I couldnt return it. They were here to help me, though. The conversation ended with me threatening to let the Better Business Bureau know how dissatisfied I was.

I then hired a mechanic to look at the scooter. It took him two weeks to get the scooter running. He said every screw and bolt on the bike was loose, the battery was worthless, some tubing was bad, and a defective part needed to be replaced. To the mechanics surprise, the tubing and part was Fedexed overnight. He got the scooter running for me and I could finally get to work on 2 wheels rather than 4 wheels.

The bike ran well from late July through August. Since then, it has been another headache. It has been in the shop more than it has been in my garage. It isnt mid-September yet and it has been in for repairs twice within a 2 week period. Both times it is because it just wont start. The mechanic said that the parts arent Roketa. They have LB on most of them. And some of the stickers say the parts are something else, not Roketa. Did I get a Roketa scooter or is the real name being covered up. In fact, my title doesnt say Roketa. What did I really get? Interesting.

I have tried calling All New Sports numerous times. The line is always busy. Ive tried emailing them with pictures and questions and there is never a reply. Im tired of dealing with All New Sports and I am most unhappy to not be riding a scooter in such beautiful weather.

All New Sports was not truthful when they said the bike could be assembled by reading the directions. Their customer service is eager to help the customer suck up $2000 for a scooter they will never see. My recommendation to anyone who wants a scooter is to invest a little more money on one of the top 5 scooters and purchase it from a local dealer. I got what I paid for nothing.

This letter is being sent to the Better Business Bureau, ripoffreport.com, and to All New Sports. I realize that I will get no satisfaction from All New Sports. I realize too that it would probably cost at least $2000 dollars in court fees if I pursued the District Attorney. I just want to go on record for the BUYER BEWARE!

Thanks for reading/posting my letter.

Sincerely,

MaryAnn

Well, I ordered a silver scooter and listed red as a second choice. I received a blue one and really wasn't unhappy about the color switch.

The manual is not unlike any printed matter from China - unreadable. But a search of the internet revealed a wealth of information and a simple phone call to the company answered the other questions I had.

I have a little over 500 mi. on mine now and it runs perfect. I am getting close to 70 mpg and that makes me very happy.

I did have one problem though. The radio touch pad had a defective volume up pad and would drive the volume to max output. I sent the pad back to All New Sports for warrenty replacement. I called to check that they had received the part and when I could expect a replacement. They said the whole radio would need to be replaced and they have a new one ordered from China and I could expect to receive it in about three weeks. Sounds fair to me!

For those who suggest going to Honda or Yamaha, let me say this. They make nice scooters but I don't see that much nicety to warrent three times the price of a Roketa. Yes, you can get it repaired at a local shop, but be prepared to empty your wallet again for this service. This would be my recommendation for those who just aren't mechanically inclined. I plan to ride mine till I wear it out then buy another one and use the other one for spare parts. As I said, I can buy three Roketa's before you get that Honda paid off.
