To whom it may concern,
I am being ripped off by a moving company called All Points USA Relocations Systems Inc. They are located in Pembroke Pines or Hollywood Florida. DOT #729557 ICC-MC 333781-c They are owned in part by Mr. Edmond Ben-Ami Their phone number is 1-800 894 1034.

I received a quote from them to move my items from Colorado to Florida. The quote was for $945 plus packing materials. I had shipped these items from the Caribbean to Colorado and they had not been unpacked. All items had fit in a 10 foot Uhaul truck. In the end All points packed 7 or 8 boxes. The also took a bed, couch, dresser and a washing machine.

The driver, Mr. Anderson called me as he was pulling out from the house in Colorado and told me the estimate was wrong and the actual price was $6800!!!!! I asked how he knew since he was just leaving and hadn't had it weighed as yet. He replied he was a professional and could estimate it. I asked why he hadn't estimated it before he loaded it and informed me of the cost difference so that I could decide to go forward or not. I was told they didn't have to tell me.

Further, they harassed my mother at the Colorado location and made her buy them a pizza. Next they went into her refrigerator and made her give them some left over chicken. They also begged money from her but she refused. At this time All Points USA has my items in storage and is charging me storage fees until I send them cash to get my things. I have been to an attorney but any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, my belongings were picked up by them on Feb 28 of this year and never made it to Fla. Since then as you know the FBI busted this company and its employees. They have also seized their assets. The FBI has been somewhat helpful to me in locating my belongings in storage in NY> The only problem is not only did I pay All Points on the day of the move but my stuff never made it to its destination. Unfortunately I now have to hire someone to go to NY or rent a truck and do it myself. I have contacted their insurance carrier who tells me I cannot file a claim because the policy states only the owner of the company can file and the refund will go to him. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF SUCH A RIDICULOUS STATEMENT......HASN'T MR. BEN-AMI GOTTEN ENOUGH FROM HIS VICTIMS...HOW MUCH MORE DO WE HAVE TO ENDURE AND SUFFER. I AM NOW CONTACTING THE DEPT. OF INSURANCE HERE IN FLA......IF ANYONE ELSE HAS AN ATTORNEY THATS HELPING THEM IN THEIR RESOLUTION PLEASE EMAIL ME AS I CANNOT LOCATE AN ATTORNEY WHO CAN HELP ME.......

Pamela,

Your story is very similar to mine (posted 8/25/02). I have fought back and advise you to do the same.

First: talk to a lawyer ASAP and find out your legal standing. More than likely you will be able to file a case in small claims court.

Second: stop calling All Points. Communicate only via some form of communication that you can document (email, fax [that gives you a confirmation report], registered mail). If you call, Edmond will pawn you off on one of his lackeys, who will then claim they can't help you because you have to deal with Edmond. By communicating on the record you'll start the paper trail necessary to prove your case in court if needed.

Third: if you paid with a credit card, dispute the charge after All Points fails to deliver on your requested date (again, do everything "on the record"). Once All Points realizes they'll get nothing for non-delivery, they'll start to play ball. If you paid with check or cash, things are going to be a little more difficult.

Fourth: save everything, get organized, and go to war! File a complaint with the South Florida BBB (this won't really accomplish much, but it will add to the pile of complaints against All Points). File a complaint with the Florida Attorney General's Office. Again, this won't do too much since this office is basically a go between for FL businesses and consumers. The kicker is they can and will forward your complaint on to the US Department of Transportation who has the enforcement teeth to punish wrong doing (and they have been punished in the past!). I'll include addresses below.

The bottom line: don't roll over for these people, that's what they want and expect. Good luck!

Try contacting their insurance company directly and make a claim for the loss of all your belongings directly to them. This has worked
for a few victims of these scam moving companies. Insurance information for All Points USA Relocation Systems is as follows:

cargo insurance: Adriatic Insurance Company
policy number: MC3694
3501 N. CAUSEWAY BLVD.
METAIRIE, LA US 70002
Telephone: (800) 535 - 7291
Fax: (504) 832 - 0605

Also, it doesn't usually help but please take the time to complain to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (part of the DOT). Consumers may file household goods or other commercial motor carrier complaints via
FMCSA's nationwide complaint hotline,1-888-368-7238 (1-888 DOT-SAFT).

To further protect consumers, a commercial complaint form is now available on FMCSA's website at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov. The form may be mailed or faxed to:
FMCSA, 400 Seventh St., SW, MC-PA, Washington, DC 20590. The fax
number is 202-366-3375.
