Unbelieveable rip-off NEVER buy from All Power America!

I'm amaized that I seem to be the first to report this company here!

Generator Model APG3004C is .promoted on the cadrton as 1,000 watt surge, 800 watt rated - but the warranty rep told me the outlet was only rated at 4 amps- barely 480 watts and that it was MY fault that the machine failed (at only 580 watts!  Just over half the "rated" load)

The carton also said it would run for 8 hours on 1/2 gallon of gas, but at the above load it ran out of gas after only six hours.

If I had checked them out at Amazon dot com I NEVER would have bought that piece of junk!

All-Power America is a distributor of (among other things) cheap "Made in China" generators that are promoted using false or misleading advertising.  The owner's manual is terribly deficient as well.  (As compared to the manual of the replacement - 800 watt rated, 900 watt surge - generator I bought at Harbor Freight - which generator is running just FINE after over 30 hours.)

The machine was terribly noisy and vibrated something terrible.  The power cord was repeatedly shaken loose and the poor connection apparently caused the cheap plastic outlet to melt.  Fortunately, nothing caught fire!

When I tried to get the name and address of an "Authorized Service Center" I was given the run-around and denied that information.  When I tried to claim warranty service I found myself talkng to "A C Warranty" (Chino, CA), who, it seems, is dedicated to deflecting warranty claims by what ever means possible.

After I made threats of legal action, they finally sent me a prepaid UPS tag to return the unit - that was done on January 20, 2012.  As of January 29 I have heard nothing back.  No surprise there, as it took nearly a week just to get them to send me the shipping tag.  I STILL don't know where - or IF - there is an "Authorized Service" facillity!

I emailed their "Customer Support" URL early on and STILL have had no response!

I have found the following phone numbers and addresses related to my troubles with this company.  Please note that some of the phone numbers given for All-Power America are answered by A C Warranty:

All-Power America, 13980 Mountain Ave. Chino, CA 91710.  Office: 888 988 2299, 626-855-0840 and fax at 626-855-0340.  Service Center 888 896 6881  web address: www.allpoweramerica.com

Contact All-Power America, at 626-961-5640 (note that this is NOT the number THEY give on their website!)

Dear Ken.  Apparently jumping to conclusions is your vaforite exercise.  Number two is posting idiot responses to legitimate complaints.  Or perhaps you have a financial interest in All Power America and thought you found something to gloat over.

No Ken, I did not kiss some attorney's butt - and am not eating crow - (Not that consulting an atttorney would be "eating cow" but merely exercising prudence.)  My complaint is legitimate and there is no crow involved.  If I HAD brought in an attorney, All Power America would not only be eating crow, but paying attorney's fees, court costs, and possibly been forced out of business.

Although I seem to be the only one who has found this site (yet) with which to alert the public, it is not the only such site available.  Anyone who wishes to verify that this company is selling junk can "Google" (or "Bing" or what have you) their name and find plenty of fodder.

Unfortunately, Social Securiy is not enough to live on, and income opportunities for an old man are scarce.  Consequently, I have had to cut expenses and one of the most expendable items is my website hosting - therefore, the complete story about how All Power America tried to screw me and the battle I had to get my refund is no longer available.  A savvy investigator can find my contact information - whereupon I will be more than happy to provide complete details.

I wrote the original complaint against All Power America posted here.

Sadly, economic necessity has required that I discontinue the web page and the All Power America comments shown in the original report.  I have posted comments on Amazon Dot Com that also reference the discontinued page.

My apologies for the inconvenience.  If you are investigating All Power America or A.C. Warranty, I suggest you vew the user comments at Amazon dot com relating to various All Power America generators.

Above all else, be prepared to be very unhappy should you buy an All Power America generator or attempt to get any assistance concerning their warranty.

Finally, remember this simple fact.  The Bitterness Of Poor Quality Remains Long After The Sweetness Of Low Price Is Forgotten

AC Warranty / All Power America settles

In all my 70 years, I have NEVER been so abused by a company the way I have been abused by All Power America via their warrenty company, AC Warranty!

If you are seriosuly considering buying an All Power America product, don't!  Instead, grab your wallet and RUN!

In about 40 hours of run time, the generator described self destructed, and AC Warranty did their best to intimidate me and weasel out of honoring the warranty.

Tuesday, February 28, at 3:42 PM, a refund was finally issued, 53 days, numerous phone calls, several email messages, repeated threats of legal action on my part, false accucations on their part, revelations that the machine is promoted with false and / or misleading advertising, nearly a hundred miles of driving, and considerable frustration and rancor after the problem was first reported.

If I had reviewed the reports at Amazon.com I NEVER would have purchased this machine in the first place!

Addendum to report on All-Power America

#6Author of original report

Tue, January 31, 2012

In the original report where I stated that the machine ran out of gas at 6 hours, I failed to indicate the total consumption at 6 hours was a full tank, specified in the owner's manual as 1.1 gallons, not the 1/2 gallon advertised on the carton as lasting 8 hours.

Due to frustration and angst, I failed to preface certain statements with "I believe" or "in my opinion" - -  Therefore, my apologies to any who may construe those comments about "junk" and "cheap" as facts - those comments are my opinion.  Likewise "noise" and "vibration" were not measured with scientific instruments and are, therefore, subjective opinion on my part.

After the phrase, "it seems" I should have added, "to me" as that statement, too, is my opinion.
