My long distance move with All State Van Lines Relocation was the worst moving experience I have had, ever. After receiving the hard sell from an agent I would never hear from again, I went with this company. I was moving a one-bedroom apartment from NYC to Georgia.

They were supposed to have sent at least two guys for the move. Only one showed up, Amos, on either end of the move, and he acted as if he was annoyed that his "helper" wasn't showing up. I got the feeling he actually didn't want him to show up so that he could pocket the money. At the origin, Amos told me that he finally told the other guy not to come because he could do it himself.

So, Amos, who's in his 60s, kept boasting of his ability to do the entire move by himself. And while his energy was impressive, literally everything was damaged. Furniture was not wrapped before being moved. I stressed the importance of not tipping an antique dresser onto two legs, but he did it anyway so he could flip it onto his back. How is that handling with care?

At the destination, I watched my unwrapped nightstand tumble of the truck onto the street. He ended up sliding the antique dresser in a blanket down a two-foot concrete wall, making deep scratches in the top despite the blanket. The base of an expensive floor lamp was completely broken off, rendering it unusable. A kitchen table top has a deep gouge and numerous scratches.

Everything that wasn't seriously damage had, at the least, superficial scratches, chips, and dings. Every time Amos saw the damage he caused, he would just kind of shrug and say "eh" and carry on. The subsequent customer service I received from the movers and the insurance company was highly unsatisfactory.

Because of the harried move, I failed to notice on the paperwork that Amos had run a single line down a column that basically marked everything being moved as damaged already. Buyer beware. The insurance company has refused to compensate me for ANYTHING! Never, never again will I use this company.

The company diligently worked with me to reach a satisfactory agreement. I was assured that the contracted movers, Relo, have been taken off their roster.
