I recently visited the All Tune & Lube on West Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia and to my suprise good service was not in the cards for me. The owner/manager "Bill" could be described as the fruitiest character on earth, name-calling aside, my auto problem was repaired poorly.

Upon having my car towed in, it took a total of two days for the gigantic mechanic (we will call him Matthew) to replace my fuel pump. The grossly-immense mechanic fixed my car, or so he said, and he quoted me $900 dollars for the installation and the fuel pump, and he had the nerve to say "He was cutting me a deal". He also confirmed that the only fuel pump that they make for my car happens to cost $300 and there is no after-market manufacturer of the product. I had the dealer, which offered to do the job for hundreds less (All Tune had already done the repair)call the shop to get my bill reduced, and they ended up reducing my bill to $550 (A real steal according to the shop).

Stupid me, I visited Advance Auto Parts on Forrest Hill Avenue, and found to my suprise, that there was an after-market fuel pump for my vehicle, with a total cost of $120.00. I called the dealer to find out the exact charge for their installation and it was $350 (too late because my car was already at All Tune and I couldn't wait another day because of work).

Furthermore; They stated that upon the replacement of my fuel pump I would smell an odor of gas for a few days. Days turned into weeks. Finally I came upon filling up my car with gas, and fuel was gushing onto the ground. It took them another day to repair the bad gasket they put on the fuel pump, but on top of that, any spark that would have been near my vehicle could have set it in flames.

I do not recommend going to All Tune & Lube, and if a guy with a lisp that goes by the name "Bill" happens to be at the counter, turn around and go somewhere else.

This store is under new ownership and in my opinion, they do a fantastic job!

Some of the stuff in RIPOFF REPORTS is VERY OLD and SHOULD be removed. I urge everyone to go visit All Tune and Lube West Broad Street for any of your auto repair or Warranty work! I do - and so do a lot of my friends. As I can share this rebuttal form with others, more good reviews of 5912 west Broad Street WILL appear!

Truth Lies Beneath ..Bill was always trying to hit on the administrative staff

My name is Troy and I used to work at All Tune as a mechanic. Matthew Barber at {office number (804) 672-9339} is only the lead mechanic not the owner, Bill Koppersmith is the owner. He did indeed install the fuel pump incorrectly and Chris had to visit for numerous times for this to be repaired.

Bill was always trying to hit on the administrative staff in his office, hence why All Tune couldn't get one front desk "woman" to stay working there.

I ended up having to leave after continually seeing the torment that Matthew and Bill put these women through.

Go do a search on their hard drives in the office, they indeed do have the biggest porn collections at all times (so don't shake their hands).

Sincerely,

Matthew

Not true ..The claim above was made by the boyfriend of one of our employees who was fired. His name is Chris Price.

His girlfriends name is Abbie Geater and she was fired in january 2002. We did, indeed install a factory fuel pump in his car, he was told by me that all i will install in a ford vehicle is a ford fuel pump, not that that was all that was available. He was discounted because he was the boyfriend of our employee. this claim was made after his girlfriend was fired. Furtermore, in paragraph 2 Mr. Price stated that we had allready done the work. Then in paragraph 3, he states that he visited Advance auto parts to find the pump, but that he couldnt wait more time to fix something he claims we have allready done. Obviously, these are the rantings of a vengeful, upset boyfriend of an ex employee. Thank you.
