Complaint Review: All Wired Up

I want to warn everyone out there about a shady and unprofessional individual named Chad Tailby from a company he owns called All Wired Up from Kitchener Ontario Canada.

I had him come in to quote me on a number of things I needed done with my telephone lines, TV wall mounting,  cabling and Home Theater set up throughout the house.

We agreed on a price for the several things he was going to do.

He started by trying to hang the TV.  He was having serious issues.  Could not get the wall anchors to work in the metal studs.... stripped a few and went to but more.

Anyways this part ate up a lot of time.  I was trying to assist where I could and where he asked me to.

Then he could not understand my Smart panel in my basement for the TV, Telephone and Cable wiring.  So he put his own block in basically disabling and bypassing the Smart Panel Network system there that cost a lot of money to install into the house in the first place and that was already there when we bought the home. Essentially I could see that he had no idea how it worked and was too lazy to figure it out. Not sure what was worse, his inexperience or his laziness or both?

So then because of bypassing the smart panel already there with Cat 5 and everything,  he installed several AmeriNet WiFi boxes throughout the house rather than using the hard cable ling already jacked out to every room in the house.  You heard the old saying.....  the more pieces of equipment...the more to go wrong...well like I said he did that because of either inexperience and or laziness.

He was quite sarcastic and condescending in attitude most the first day and the second time there.  I was offering my small tidbits here and there as he was struggling and he in not so many ways said leave me alone and go away.

While I had a phone company (Execulink) tech on the line with him as he stumbled trying to get my wifi router to synch up with the modem, firewall etc, he kept making facial expressions through the phone at the Execulink Techie emanating the vibe that if verbalized would say something like " Yeah ...yeah ... I know that , come on do you know what you are talking about"  kind of looks.  I ascertained that this Chad guy was one cocky fellow. Made himself seem like he knew it all yet struggled at almost everything he did.  I was already in too deep to cut him loose at that point I figured. Just stick it out and trust him.

So while on the clock he proceeds to start chatting it up to my wife about Germany, Oktoberfest and going on to YouTube showing us where he had been and rides he took.  All after my wife simply mentioned our planned trip to Oktoberfest Germany.  Anyways I sat tight lipped and patiently observed this taking place.

So then he goes on to hang the Plasma TV Mount upstairs main floor.  He marked the holes for the lags and as he drills one I see that he is off his small mark by 1/16 to an 1/8" off his mark.  I was going to say something but he had already shoved off my comments in the past few hours and I figured "he is a pro...he knows what he is doing".  I just assumed the mount had some wiggle room for margin of error.

Well it did not!   The TV was hung and was obviously on crooked lower on the left side.  My wife was pissed!  I was not happy with it.  Chad basically scratched his head wondering how it could be crooked and when I commented on the fact that I saw his drill bit slip down a 1/16" inch or better Chad's words were very abruptly and sternly "Don't Go There!" he scowled.  I though what the hell!  You crewed up and I pointed out what you did and now you lash at me.  What an idiot!  So anyways in frustration he packs up his tools and simply leaves. Says he is late to grab his daughter or something like that.   So the remaining jobs are still no where near done.

So after he left, I took the TV down with the help of my brother I had to call over from across the city to help me lift it down.

I remarked all the holes and drilled them and rehung the mount and TV.  It looked perfect.  I knew that Chad's hole was FFF"d up.   So basically I did that whole job Chad did all over again myself start to finish.

The next time he arrived to assumbaly finish the jobs.... I could sense his attitude and odd things he said to the affect that he is already spent too much time on this project for what he quoted.  Basically passing all the blame to me the customer because of errors or trouble he was having sorting what he should already know and be good at out.  Somehow that becomes the customers fault.???

So the last day here he does a couple more things,  hangs the rear surround speakers.  Drilled three holes one each side in error and there they were left with holes in the wall where he drilled in error.
Than he leaves me to struggle to hide the wires under the baseboard and moldings.  He even bought the wrong wire for the job I found out after the fact from a friend who said it should have been the blue sheath speaker wires when working with metal stud and basements.

So that was that.  He had my money which I entrusted to him.  I had to go down and properly hang the equipment that was still hanging loose from the wires or that he installed crooker yet again.

So not only does he not do anywhere near all the things he said he would, but when I called him to come and at least label all the pieces of equipment and wires he ripped out of my smart panel. He was reluctant and whined that this will take another hour.  I told him I struggle trying to explain to my internet/phone provider what everything does and where everything leads to.... it is a nightmare! 

So after leaving messages for over a month while my wife asks me over and over when is Chad (or she had more colorful words to call him) coming back to get this labeled so that the next tech guy I had come in would know what everything does without spending another two hours or couple hundred bucks charging me to figure out what Chad should at least come in and take the time do do or should have done the first time!

Finally he said he will show Thursday. Well I had roofers hammering on the roof all morning and so when Chad arrived, I was in the basement, in my tool room easily within earshot of my doorbell.  No radio going or nothing.  Just the roofers outside hammering away and nail gunning.

So Chad says he knocked on my door , rang the bell twice and no one came to the door.  I disagree.  I would not hear the door knocks but would have certainly heard the doorbell.  I fell he is lying and did not ring the bell. I feel he was using this opportunity to knock twice and than leave and say he made an attempt to meet me and I was not around.  So that way he could leave and not have to spend the hour he says it would have taken to label everything. 

I asked the roofers and they said he walked up to the door, than left a few seconds later.  They did not see if he knocked or rang but said he was there and leaving pretty fast.

So I called Chad back as I assumed he never showed at all.  He says "I was there. ask your roofers".  I asked if he rang my doorbell?  He said yes.   I then asked him why he never called my cell that he for sure had my number on as that was how we were communicating...via text. I said " I would have heard the doorbell....are you sure you rang it?".  His reply was "Kevin if you are trying to piss me off you are doing a good job at it".  Than he says "Kevin I have done my due diligence...and I will take this time to part ways with you going forward".  Than he hung up!

I was vibrating!  What a cocky PR!

So he screwed me over,  his work ethic and talent were non existent. He is a ignorant person and will take your money and leave you hanging. 

If you are in the mood to be screwed over and receive horrible work in the process.......please call All Wired Up , Chad Tailby from KitchenerOntarioCanada.  Message me and I can get you his numbers.   That is my opinion and I am a pretty good judge of opinion.   I hired him to do what I was hesitant to do but in hindsight I could have did most the jobs so much better.  And completed all the jobs too instead of just half of what he promised and quoted.  He is a real crook and arrogant cocky individual...that is for certain.
