We also learned that the homeowner insited the generator had to be started against All Years reccomedation, and the resulting damage occoured. This should have been on the homeowners insurance, but All Year took the initiative and filed the claim with its own insurance company and it was paid.

EDitors NOTE: With the many thousands of jobs preformed each year by All Year Electric Inc., All Year Cooling And Heating, Tom Smith Development., Rip-off Report staff fails to find any other complaints filed anywhere about them. After all, they have been listed on Rip-off Report at the very top of most search engines. If there was a real problem with this company, Rip-off Report would know.

All Year Cooling And Heating Permit Scam over 450 Permits open with city in last 10 years, botched A/C installation Fort Lauderdale Florida

All Year Cooling & Heating Inc. owned by Tom Smith has an interesting permit scam going on. I have requested his permit histories from the various building departments and I have counted over 450 open permits between his two licenses in just four building departments there are over a dozen building departments. One license is in his name Tomas A Smith the other is in Greta Smith the open permits beginning since 2002. If I am correct there are hundreds of customers out there who paid for a permit and never had the final inspection done which leaves them without a permit. The building department does not follow up on this and there are no fines or fees associated with this practice. The only requirement is to get the permit or may we assume request it but not complete it. For more information on how Mr. Smith runs his businesses see my web site (((ROR REDACTED))) I think this is outrageous how can we force a license upon someone train them on the responsible way to do business and then allow them to simply not have to finalize the transaction. To make matters even worse some of the building departments simply delete the application assuming the work was never done. The other way to clear the data base is to place them in the expired status or simply cancel them. The home owner is none the wiser and the contractor never gets the work checked (inspected) on. The contractor may do as he wishes as there are no finals and no one is checking if the work was even done. Why do we pay for this service if contractors have found a way to avoid it all together? This service is more for revenue collection than consumer protection? When a customer pays for a permit and it is not completed is this not fraud? Over ten years of open permits on file how much evidence does the state need to take action and why aren't they? I have written to State Officials, FPL, and Building Departments even the DBPR and no one seems to care. Tom Smith is suing me for exposing his companies on the internet four suits that total a million dollars, be careful doing business with him as his customer satisfaction department is located in his lawyers office, you will need to bring a lawyer with you. South Florida is definitely the place for shady business deals where you can really take advantage of the consumer and rest assured you will get away with it. So FYI if you are in the market for a A/C I suggest you due your due diligence and first check with the Building Department, FPL, DBPR, and BBB which have over 20 complaints on this company. All year has open permits due to in-proper installs of a/c units.Most of thier intstall are done so bad that they do not pull a permit. All year knows this to.This is why they do not pull permits.This would make open permit seem small, To the ones they do not pull permit for.The open permit are open due to,Not up to code,Faild.They can not get the open permit fix, To code.Then why pull A permit,When they can go around pulling the permit.Tom smith from all year has not been pulling permit for a/c units for a long time.I would say be careful doing business with him.

It is unfortunate in this day and age certain individuals and or competitors would use sites like this to post false claims and lies about reputable companies like our self because they cannot compete with our overall price and value. All Year Cooling and Heating, Inc is proud to be nationally recognized as a Top Ten Rheem Dealer Nationwide, Top Ten Trane Dealer Nationwide, Trane Comfort Specialist, and York Certified Comfort Expert Dealer. We are the largest residential air conditioning replacement contractor in south Florida, and have well over 150,000 successful installations to date.

As a public service and in an effort to combat false claims published here, All Year Cooling and Heating, Inc has affected a new full disclosure policy regarding permits and the permitting process. Here you will find a full listing of our closed (completed) permits since August 2008. Permits are a matter of public record, and we encourage you to contact your local building department.

Permits are a very serious matter for consumers to be aware of. They are a necessary mechanism to insure work to their home or business is done safely and properly. The process can be arduous at times, as that building codes and their interpretation can vary from one municipality to another. That's why All Year Cooling and Heating has a Permitting Department that's only function is to see the process through from the start of a project to the final inspection.

It's something of a misnomer to say we have open permits. Of course we have open permits. We are the largest ac replacement contractor in south Florida, constantly filing for permits, and in 2008 alone we purchased over $350,000 worth of permits from various municipalities. From this day forward, we will be posting monthly reports on all of our closed permits as a service to our customers and community on this site and others.

In closing, our company policy is to provide the best price and service in the south Florida air conditioning market, and for 36 years we have done just that.

And remember, don't be fooled by the other dealers negative selling tactics and promises of big discounts. All Year Cooling and Heating has the best overall value, guaranteed.
