Allegro Law based out of Prattville AL was supposedly put out of business on or around July or August 2009.  Or so I thought.  Their main number is no longer working.  At least not Allegro Law LLC.  However, they still take my money and forward it to my creditors.  And they do have a customer service number.  But beware if you call them... you will be on hold for a VERY LONG TIME.

One of my creditors did not agree to the terms, but Allegro did not follow up.  Why not?  I am paying them $59 a month, which is 21% of the amount they debit monthly from my account.  They did manage to negotiate a lower payment and interest rate with AMEX, but not with Barclay's VISA (another organization I'm not too crazy about).  My VISA account is closed, and Allegro is forwarding payments to them, but the interest rate remains at an all time high of 30.24%!!  I figured Allegro could not renegotiate since they were out of business (or so I thought).  So if they are not out of business, why haven't they tried to renegotiate with VISA?  They say it's my fault for not following up with them.  WHAT AM I PAYING THEM $59 a month for??  To let VISA keep charging me???  And furthermore, how is a person supposed to contact ALLEGRO if when you call them you have to wait for AN HOUR ON HOLD BEFORE ANYONE ANSWERS THE PHONE??!!!!  I literally spent an hour of my precious time at work today on personal business on my cell phone.  I thought well, Allegro did call me back on Friday for the first time in forever, but when I try to call them back, I enter the twilight zone of waiting on hold and wondering if anyone is ever going to answer.  I humored them by staying on hold and waiting and waiting.  After an hour of waiting, somebody came on the line.  This seems to be routine with them.  How they can stay in business with customer service like that?

Cheers.
