My friend and I purchased the Vacation club back in December of 2003. We were told that with this purchase we would be able to use it year round and whenever and as often we wanted to use it, we were also told that with this purchase we would be transported to and from the airport in Cancun or wherever we go free of charge.

I used the "club" for the first time in
May of 2004 and found out that I could not get transportation to or from the airport unless I paid 30.00 USD each way. My friend then tried booking a week in August of 2004 and was told that he could not book at that particular time because we do not own part of that season. This is very confusing because when we purchased into the club we were told over and over again that we could use it whenever and as often as we wanted to use it, we even asked this question several times before deciding to purchase because it seemed too good to be true.

I now find out that this is not the case. I have talked to my sales man and manager Brett Olsen at Caribbean Village Cancun, and he initally told me he would take care of things and fix the problem. After several email's and telephone calls I got in contact with him and he said "sorry dude, I didnt realize exactally how the program worked, or what I was selling at the time, it was all new to me, but he was going to fix the situation". Then again after several emails and telephone calls he emailed me back saying: "Hey bro.
Sorry I havent writen but our system has just been overhauled and there are quite a few emails I am responding to. Anyway, I discovered the program we designed for you involves usage during
partial year.

The good news is that you are able to book the prime times of May, June, November, and up till December 15. This is when you can use your Power Weeks as well as your Unlimited Bonus Nights.

It also enables you it use September and October which believe it or not offers great weather except for the occasional hurricane. Pleaase book around these times and let me know when you wish to ARRIVE. for your power weeks I need at least sixty day prior notice to accomodate your reservations.- For your UBN bonus time from 60 days or less. Love ya dude, if you wish to upgrade to a all year program you can with equity included. Your Friend. Brett Osen" Basically telling me that things could not be changed.

I was not happy with this and continued to email with a response from Eric Jones (regional manager) stating " good morning, you can use your bonus time 365 days of the year. and you can use your regular membership all year around the only diference is that i'ts space avibablie only, when do you want to come and i will help you with your rev. Eric" ( I have tried to book, and am not allowed to according to the booking people).

This is not the program that I supposedly purchased into.. What is going on here? I further talked to Elvin Botello in the Domican Republic, all that he tried to do was sell me another vacation club. If We had known that we were purchasing into a partial year, we would have not purchased it, the whole "use it anytime of year" was really the big seller for us. I am writing to see if there is anything that can be done to fix this situation so that I can use the "club" at anytime that I want to. We were told one thing and sold another, this is illegal in most countries. I have also emailed Occidental directly with no response. I have had to change several of my future vacation plans to various destinations because of this problem.
