Oliver Winslow from Allen Lewis and Associates has been calling my mothers house leaving threatning messages stating i will go to jail if i or my attorney does not contact them immediatly. I previously worked out a payment plan in which they stated they had to take directly from my checking account and charged me and extra $179.00 for doing so. Well one month they took to many payments thus screwing up my account and did not put it back which resulted in overdraft charges and return checks. I had such a hard time i closed the account and changed banks. I then attempted to call to say i would send the payment and they stated i could not do that. thus they will only allow you to pay with full access of your checking account, giving their track record i refused thus stating i will go to JAIL. I say come get me! Beware of ALLEN LEWIS AND ASSOCIATES.

Marla, That "payment plan" was illegal.

Marla,

First of all, you can NEVER go to jail for ANY delinquent debt. It simply CANNOT happen. Being in debt is a civil issue, not criminal. You ONLY go to jail for criminal matters.

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING that has happened to date both verbal and written in your dealings with these fools. Then, STAY OFF THE PHONE!! Never speak to any debt collector on the phone.

Go to FTC.gov and file a separate complaint online for EACH violation of the law and your rights under the FDCPA.

NEVER give your banking info to any debt collector! This will ALWAYS be a problem. You CAN sue them for your damages, and I strongly suggest you do so!

That payment plan they set up with the $179 fee was illegal. It is illegal for a collector to in any way charge you to take a payment, especially if they say that is the only payment method 'allowed".

Remember, a debt collector NEVER makes the rules. YOU DO! If you decide to pay them, it is YOUR choice how you do so. NOT thiers.

NEVER pay any third party collector without first making them do full validation. Then only use a MO or bank check, never your personal check.

You will see lots of good info on how to fight these guys ... as an attorney told me ... there is no debtor's jail

Bud Hibbs is another consumer advocate and he has this posted on his site ...

Jeannie Hecht and husband Robert Hecht are the owners of Allen, Lewis & Associates.

Allen, Lewis & Associates, Inc. is NOT, I repeat NOT a law office. There are NO attorneys there. Only a bunch of jerks who like to beat up on people over the phone to try and con you out of your money.

Jeannie Hecht and hubby Robert Hecht, the owners of Allen, Lewis & Associates DO have lawyers. They hire them to defend themselves against the many lawsuits filed against them for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Sleazy, liars, con-men and lawbreakers, like to collect using threats of legal actions and intimidation.

This is a SLEAZY group of social misfits, untrained and unprofessional money grubbers who will tell you anything, so long as it results in them making money. The Hecht's are why we have a FEDERAL LAW to regulate the activities of debt collectors. Liars, thieves and con-men aptly fits this organization of losers and con artists.

Here is what they say on their website, is this truth or more collection agency b.s.??

"Debt collection requires a delicate balance of both collection technique and knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. All Allen, Lewis & Associates personnel are thoroughly trained in debt collection. Every employee realizes the importance of representing your best interest by treating your customers with courtesy and providing knowledgeable information and facts about their responsibilities in resolving their obligation with your organization.

At Allen, Lewis & Associates, both you and your customers will be handled professionally and respectfully, with careful attention to details that are important to you."

DO YOU THINK THEY ARE WELL TRAINED PROFESSIONALS? WERE YOU HANDLED WITH RESPECT? WERE THEIR COLLECTORS KNOWLEDGEABLE? HOW ABOUT THE COURTESY?

I didn't think so!

Paying ANY money to this sleazy band of collectors will only make you worse off than you are. Use the FREE letter, send the Hecht's to hell!
