In 2004, I applied as a student to Allentown Business School what is now Lehigh Valley College. I never completed a whole semester and now I owe money to Sallie Mae in the amount of $22,000.00 which have now defaulted and ruined my credit. I receive harrassing phone calls and I dont even know how I got a loan for that amount. I have tried contacting the school on several occassions and I get told that someone will give me a call back but no one ever does. I am 27 years old and my cedit is ruined and Sallie Mae on its own is a rip off so i pretty much got screwed from the college by not reporting that I wasnt attending school and by possibly forgeing documents to get the loans If anyone has an advice for me please contact me. Thanks!

I have been fighting with both Sallie Mae and LVC/Career Ed for many years now about how much my loans are and how little time I actually spent at the school. I then came across your report and it really hit home because it is exactly what I am going through as I am writing this.

I spent under 6 months at this college before realizing how much of a crock it was and started doing my research. While attending LVC I got curious and wondered what the cost was for other local community colleges. My heart sank when I learned that I would be paying nearly 6 times the amount of a community college after I graduated from LVC. You know what I did? Packed my books, my papers, told them I was leaving and ran for the hills. Mind you this was only 4-5 months into my schooling there. I then come to find out I am being charged close to $25,000 for under 6 months of schooling there and don't even have  the degree I originally was going for. I was furious considering I probably could have gone to Princeton or some other Ivy League school with that kind of money.

The school then closed (for the better) and I started calling around to get more of an idea why I was paying out the wazoo and didn't even have a degree. I was directed to Career Ed and they did absolutely nothing even after explaining that 4-5 months of useless classes does not equate to $20,000+. They basically shrugged their shoulders and said it would be best to pay your dues and leave us alone. So now I am towering in debt from that little bit of time at LVC and like you am being called constantly from Sallie Mae and their stupid 1-800 numbers. I am dying to hear what could possibly make that little bit of time at that crappy school that amount of money...

Justice needs to be served to these people... They have robbed hundreds of people and completely ruined their futures all to selfishly make a quick buck.
