Called for inspection of water heater on 8/2/2014. The technician Terry came one hour late and said it needs to be changed. He said there some black residues coming out from faucetts but unable to show any thing. I thought of changing it any way as mine was old. He quoted $1118 for the 40 gal gas heater, $310 for the 3/4 pressure reducing valve, and $202 for the thermal expansion tank. I was new to this field and did not do research. I WAS DEAD WRONG.
Every one in my neighbour hood installed the same type within $800-900. Talked to Kinney and she said their material is the best one. The same materail at Home Depot cost 340$ for the tank and value costs $60, thermal expansion tank costs $70. The labor cost alone cannot be $1200. The most expensive cost of installing with the material is at the maximum $1000.
The technician never did a good job. Have to clean up the mess he created.
JUST RUN IF YOU COME ACROSS 'ALL GOOD PLUMBING AND ELECTRIC'.
