In 2004, my very naieve husband and my naive self let an unscrupulous money manager move the money in our TSA account to another account that she favored.  She implied that we needed to move it in order to borrow the $50,000 we needed as part of the funds to buy a home.  Our account sat with Aviva for a few more years and then, in 2010 when I retired and stopped making monthly contributioins, my TSA was transferred to a company called Athene.  Athene held my account until 2015 when it began the process of transferring all of their TSA accounts to a new third party servicing company called Alliance One.  The first thing that Alliance One did (or did not do) was keep track of payments to the TSA for loans taken against it.  When they did realize how badly they had dropped the ball, they gave everyone a deadline by which they must get caught up, but they also told people that the amount they needed to pay was incorrect.  It took many phone calls and voicemails to straighten that out.  During this same time period, the company or companies quit sending quarterly statements.  I have not had a quarterly statement showing the current status of my TSA since since the quarter ending June 2015.  I think this might even violate some law.  Don't these financial services have a responsibility to inform people of the status of their accounts?  I have called several times to inquire about when I might receive a statement or some accounting of my TSA.  I have been told multiple things...."we'll be doing it early this year"  "we had to upgrade our computers", etc. etc.   Now my back is up against the wall.  I need to get the full amount available to me out of the TSA.  What are the chances that this will happen in a smooth, straightforward manner?  At what point do I hire an attorney to try and shake loose my hard won savings funds?
