Against my advice, my son contacted this company yesterday which, according to their ads enabled you to get a job paying $19 per hour. They asked that he bring his social security card, passport or other federal ID. Again, against our advice, he signed a contract putting down a $100 deposit with a balance due of $639 for security guard training - no job, no guarantee of a job.

I read the contract and they require that in order to receive a refund you must come into their office and request a refund using their refund form.  I called the company this morning (no answer). I sent a letter requesting a refund to the fax number (it did not pick up).  In any event, the $100 deposit is non-refundable.  He is going to return to the location this afternoon to get their refund form. We'll see if they're even at that address. The classes are scheduled to start tomorrow at 5:00pm.

They are indeed still at that address. I signed up for classes there today. Kind of odd that a group of con artists could last working in the shadow of Times Square.

See, unlike you or your son, I've been a security guard for five years, and recognized Allianz for what it was: a training company. They don't hire you themselves, they recommend you to other companies. Whether you can get a job from them or not depends on whether you can take the classes, and classes cost money.

Is that hard to understand?
