Allianz Global Assistance Allianz Travel Insurance Company did not pay my travel claim as requested, My travel loses were $3,230.78. I was paid only $800.00 despite having $9,000 in insurance. Internet
Allianz Global Assistance Travel Insurance did not pay claim as documented. I paid $284.00 for a policy with benefits up to $9,000.00. Instead of being reimbursed for a $3,230.78 travel loss, to include airfare and trip costs to Rwanda, Africa, I was paid ony $800.00. Allianz treated my clam as a "Missed Connection"instead of the "Trip interruption" that occurred. I spoke to five Allianz claims personnel to have the claim settled as a "Trip Interruption". Despite repeated phone calls, I was never informed my claim would not be handled as trip interruption.
I informed Allianz I was able to save them an extra $3,950.00 by having the tour operator in Rwanda return my in-country trip costs. My reward saving the company nearly $4,000.00, was for Allianz not fully pay me for my travel losses. In essence, "they cheated me"
I also need to state Allianz claims representatives did not return most of my phone calls. Moreover, Allianz personel never acknowledged receipt of my emails, nor letters providing requested claims information. (I had requested an acknowledgement of all my emails/letters). I sent a letter to the CEO of Allianz asking him to intervene on the claim. Although I sent the letter via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation, the delivery was never confirmed. This was not due to the fault of the Post Office.
Allianz had no intent of fully paying my documented claim. They ignored the terms of their policy and did not pay the amount they owned me. The fact they did not return my phone calls or acknowledge receipt of my emails further attests to their lack of interest in fairly resolving the claim. I find it amazing (or telling) the Allianz CEO would not acknowlege my letter.
My advice is don't purchase Allianz Travel Insurance-unless you want to be Ripped Off. They will gladly take your money, but will not pay what they owe you. Unless I hear otherwise, my next step is Small Claims Court.

I had a similar experience. They would not pay my claim as well. They said that there was a term in the aggrement with me, that made it impossible for them to pay. unfortunately, they stalled so long to tell me that, that i could not cancell the coverage to get my money back. i also filed a claim with the better business and state attorney general. i recommed to everyone to file those complaints as well.
