READ THIS "BEFORE" purchasing this insurance - Absolutely 100% SCAM!!!

Written on 7/20/2013....

Long story short - after being delayed for 4 hours in Charlotte - my daughter's flight was cancelled from Charlotte to Daytona Beach. U.S. Air booked her and others on a flight to Orlando. The US Air agent assured her that her baggage was on the Orlando flight.

Once my daughter arrived in Orlando - the bags were not on the flight. My daughter now had to get from Orlando to Daytona. I made arrangements for someone to drive the 1 1/2 hours from Daytona to Orlando - and back again. Instead of getting in Daytona at 5:30pm - my daughter arrived at 1:00 AM - with NO LUGGAGE. My daughter missed a day of work, and the luggage finally arrived the next day.

I took forever to finally get a hold of Alliianz. First called 20 minutes on hold - had to hang up, second call - 20 minutes on hold - hung up. Third call finally got through only to be told - "given the circumstances - NOTHING would be covered. You can file a claim, but I can't guarantee they will pay it."

The flight was delayed, then cancelled, then sent to another city entirely, then had to make arrangements for someone to travel 3 hours round trip - not including the wait time and gas expense - for 5 hours of total time, bags were lost, missed a night of work, and NOTHING WAS COVERED!!!! This is ABSOLUTELY A FACT!!!

When I asked about the baggage - the customer service rep J.L. - (they don't give last names - figures), J.L. said - "well you don't have a baggage policy"! I told J.L. that Allianz NEVER offered, and DOESN'T offer a baggage policy from the U.S. Air link. I asked him to show me where I could have purchased other items for the policy -  THERE ISN'T ANY!!

Here's the best part - he then said - "we are NOT tied in with US Air - so you will have to get everything NOTORIZED in order for it to be paid"!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!

My conversation with J.L. went round and round for 20 minutes - there was more double talking going on then I have ever heard! Hey - Mike Nelson...President of Allianz Insurance - you and your company are a bunch of SNAKE OIL SALESMAN!!!!

Hey Mike Nelson - stop hiding under your desk - put your "big boy pants" on, stop being a coward - and address some complaints!

One other point of responsibility - U.S. Airways - is ALSO to blame here for using such a horrible company. Yes - I will be contacting the president of US Air as well.

Hey Sarah - STOP NONSENSE!!!

Hey Sarah - from the Help Team,

You sound just like everyone else from the Scam Company you work for - a bunch of "double talking garbage"!!!

To address your VERY FIRST sentence - "I’m sorry you had trouble reaching us and that the product you’ve purchased did not cover your particular situation." There is ONLY ONE option to purchase insurance under the US Air insurance link. There is NO other choices to pick from to "cover other situations"!

When folks throughout the country purchase insurance -"to cover their trip" - Allianz does NOT have a menu of various items, or coverages from which to choose!!! NOTHING - only one choice!!! This trip was not only delayed, it was cancelled. Your rep - J.L. said - "oh I'm sorry, she wasn't delayed long enough. IT WAS CANCELLED! If she had been delayed over 4 hours it would have been covered". GO BACK AND LISTEN TO THE TAPE!!! The flight was scheduled to arrive in Daytona at 4:30pm. My daughter didn't arrive in Daytona until 1:00 am the next day!!! I don't have a math degree - but that's 8 1/2 hours of being delayed.

Furthermore - J.L. said - "you didn't have or purchase "baggage coverage". I asked J. L. where on your site, or US Air's site is there a link to purchase "baggage insurance"??? Guess what Sarah - there isn't any!

For all the people reading this - the Allianz rep J.L. said ANY and ALL documents I provide must be NOTORIZED! If you total a $50,000 car it doesn't have to be freaking notorized!!! Who is going to go through the trouble of gathering all the documents, receipts, boarding passes, and have them notorized???

Instead of getting these posts to customer service - why don't you have your coward owner email or call me??? Better yet - why don't we debate this on TV or a talk-radio show??? Oh geee - I bet he won't do that!

At minimum - you folks owe me a refund!!! Let's see if you step up to the plate and offer that - a refund for both legs of the trip?!?!? I will dispute the charges with Visa as soon as the bill arrives and I will continue to post the truth about your company!!

You know what Sarah - I hope something like this happens to you and maybe your car - and we'll see how it feels to YOU! The company you work for is a SCAM - and by you responding like you do - you're participating in it!

Dear Tom K.

I’m sorry you had trouble reaching us and that the product you’ve purchased did not cover your particular situation.  I’ve passed your comments on to our customer service and product teams as customer feedback is important to us.  While we have designed our products to cover the most common unforeseen situations our customers might encounter, not all events and situations are ones which trigger coverage in our insurance programs.

We and our partners want consumers to make an informed choice when it comes to purchasing insurance, which is why we provide a link to review the policy’s terms and conditions.  With this link, we offer a 10-day free look, so should you decide the coverage doesn’t work for you, you can get a full refund for the policy.

If you have further questions about the outcome of your claim, or would like someone to walk you through the policy you purchased in full detail, please don’t hesitate to call our customer service line at 1-800-284-8300.

Regards,

Sarah, HelpTeam

This is not an insurance issue

This is not an issue with insurance..this is an issue with US Airways.

Your daughters ticket is a "contract" where US Airways agreed to get her from point A to point B.  Now, due to circumstances if they are delayed or have to go through Point C to get from Point A to Point B they are still meeting their obligation.

So the first question you need to ask your daughter is when they got her to Orlando.  Did she agree to that, or did they say that they are only getting her to Orlando and she is required to find her own way to Daytona Beach.  If it is the later..they did not meet their contract and she has a valid claim.  If it was the former, then she may have released them from any liablity for the cost of delays.

But you have a 2nd issue..luggage.  They also have liability when it comes to lost or delayed luggage.  In which she can make a claim for expenses because the luggage was delayed.

You can use your favorite search engine and search for "US Airways baggage liability form" for more information.

Just to add a comment about the "missed work".  If she was scheduled to work that night..a consideration would be is if she cut it too close.  That is does it matter if she was 7 1/2 hours late.  Where if she was say 30 minutes late would she have missed work anyways?  Because if that is the case as much as you may think they should..no one is going to hold an airline responsible for someone misssing work over being just a little delayed.
