Allied Doors, faulty installation of garage door Pompano Beach Florida
Allied Doors installed my Stanley garage door in October, 1996. The door is falling apart and is supposed to have a lifetime warranty. Allied came to look at the door and basically said too bad, Stanley had sold the garage door division and Allied would not honor the warranty. They told me not to use the door and it would cost me $860 to repair. I called the builder, who really tried to help, and got the price reduced to $550. Since, I have had another company tell me the door was installed wrong and that is what is causing the damage. I think Allied should fix the problem that they created 6 years ago and not charge me for it. I did not cause the problem as they have insinuated. The top two panels of the door is splitting in the center, as if it were made of paper, and it bows down when opening or closing. Also, Allied told the builder that they had come to inspect the door, and they never showed up. Not only are they unwilling to admit fault, but they lied to the builder, who uses them extensively, about inspecting the door.

Some of readers may have been following the soap opera played out in this report between Dale and April and our company (Allied Doors). Unfortunately for the loyal readers, it's over. We misunderstood their intentions and they confused our company with another.
I have gotten to know April (while hurling insults at her) and have found her to be an honest, concerned citizen. I have also found that she can take a good punch, and hit pretty good herself. She doesnt back off from a fight and is strong in her convictions.
April and Dale are third generation garage door people fighting an uphill battle to expose those in our industry who prey on consumers. We are firmly behind their efforts.
We entered the picture after an unhappy customer filed a Rip Off report on our company. We are certain there is more to the story than indicated in the report. However, because we are unable to identify that customer, the report and our rebuttal will stand or fall on merit.
Dale and April read the report on Allied Doors and "smelled a rat." Apparently there are others out there using our name. We completely understand how we became confused with another company. We also completely understand why Dale and April were quick to act. Their mission is to inform and assist the public. Again, we applaud their efforts.
The overwhelming majority of garage door companies are owned, operated and staffed by honest, hardworking people. Dale and April are trying to prevent a few bad apples from spoiling our industry.
If anyone has information that can assist Dale or April, do not hesitate to send your information to percisiondoorscam@juno.com. As in our case, they will do the work necessary to give you an honest answer.

Over the last several days, I have been in contact via e-mail w/ Steve from Allied-Doors. I have personally done alot of background information and checked on the information provided to me by Steve.
Allied Doors, which is the name refered to in this report, is not a part of PDS. Unfortunately, information provided and obtained on PDS and their alias, uses Allied Doors and variations of their name all over the nation. Understand, I am retracting the rebuttal to this report, as PDS has intentionally used a repertable company name to pull off their scam. The Allied Doors in this report is the original Allied Doors and are legiate. In fact are high standing in their community, with other business, with manufactures, and their customers.
I have fallen into the same trap that we have been warning the consumers about. I have done what PDS has wanted people to do. Allied Doors have only 4 locations, including the one listed, in Florida. PDS has their name used in 33 other states. If you see their name used, please send me an e-mail with the information at percisiondoorscam@juno.com or send Steve at Allied Doors an e-mail.
I will do everything in my power to stop PDS. To stop them from using names illegally, to stop them from riping the American people off, and to stop their business peroid.
I also misunderstood Steve's intentions on this matter, and do apologize. Maybe by this mistake, poeple can see exactly how strong their scam is. Any help that Allied Doors gives us, as our other consumers that have helped, is always greatly appreciated. And I will help Allied in everyway I can, so that another company doesn't run into the same complication due to PDS' use of their name for their own gain. I hope that Allied takes action against PDS and I will stand behind any action that they do take. I wish Steve and Allied Doors the best.
I know PDS is reading this,so this is what I have to say to them. "Did you think people wouldn't figure this out? Did you think that they won't realize you've taken another companies name? Myself and Allied Doors have, so you didn't win this one, and you won't ever win. I will see to it, that companies you impersonate, such as Allied Doors, are made aware of your actions."

You state that your not an allias of Precision, it's "Laughable". No your laughable. There is so much proof suporting this. Each and every one of your addresses, phone numbers, etc. are of the exact same addresses, phone numbers, etc. of PDS. Even the few addresses you list on your "Website."
You can also find hundreds of "Allied Doors" on any yellow book site. Now, who's laughing.
Then you say, that I appreantly never worked with these doors, nor no what I'm talking about. Whatever! The person stated, "The 2 top panelsare splitting in the center. And it bows when opening or closing." You actually want to confuse people to make them think your company was not at fault. I have been doing this for 10 years. The ONLY way the door could be experiencing these problems IS from faulty installation. Appearently you need to make sure yourself and those you work for you know what their doing.
You also claimed that the customer left no address, etc. therefor you can't find out what's going on with the door. OK, how many customers complain to their builders and have you lower the price? Wow!
It sure did take you a long time to rebuttal didn't it? And you actually want people to believe you. Oh, I also read that you said there was NO Stanely Door anymore. Your half right. There is no manufactor of Stanley Garage Doors, lets face it they were the poorest doors ever made. But there are garage door companies named, Stanely Garage Door Service, and of course another Precision allias.
I even have doubts as to who you are. Nothing you've said makes any sence to anyone who knows the garage door business.

#13REBUTTAL Owner of company
Fri, August 30, 2002
As the owner of Allied Doors, I would like to respond to the nameless homeowner and fictitious ex-employee. Hopefully, I will also clarify a number of erroneous statements.
You have published our companys name, address and phone number. My name is Dennis and I can be reached at that location during normal business hours.
Because I cannot inspect the door (homeowner name, address, etc. is not included), it is impossible to rebut the claim that the door was installed improperly. Likewise, it is impossible to make a statement as to what caused the door problems or whether a service person did or did not inspect the door. It is curious to note that the homeowner says we came to look at the door in the beginning of his narrative and they never showed up at the end. It is impossible to do both!
The damage outlined is indicative of the type sometimes seen on Stanleys garage doors with the hurricane post (the garage doors that Allied supplied in 1996). The damage may be the result of operating the garage door with the post system activated, an improperly installed garage door opener, failure to properly maintain the door, inadvertent bottom hook engagement, product defect, improper installation or a myriad of other problems.
Stanley Door Systems closed its garage door division a few years ago. The garage door in question was backed by a manufacturers warranty. Unfortunately, since Stanley Garage Doors no longer exists, neither does the warranty. This is pertinent if an event covered in that LIMITED WARRANTY comes into question. It is not relevant in cases of neglect, misuse, or (yes) improper installation.
Improper installations do happen. To protect our customers and our reputation, we have an internal policy concerning installation defects. We correct any problems that are the result of improper installations by this company. If we installed a door incorrectly, we fix it free of charge.
It is doubtful that the other garage company who inspected the door had experience with hurricane post doors. This was a unique product sold and installed in this area only by Allied Doors. To say the door was installed wrong is an easy catch all to discredit the competition and avoid the job of performing a real diagnosis.
As for the ex-employee, I am certain of two things. First, he is not an ex-employee of Allied doors. Second, he has never installed a Stanley garage door with the hurricane post system.
The statement that the only way that you could possibly be having the problems youre explaining is that Allied DID NOT install the door to installation and safety standards shows a complete and total misunderstanding of the door system. I doubt if this individual could identify a section joint clip, post end cap, truss offset bracket or back-up plate, all components of the door in question.
Allied Doors is not another name for Precision Garage Doors, or anything else. My family founded Allied Doors in 1966. We still own the company and are not in partnership with any other company or individual. The claim that Allied is another name for Precision Garage Doors is not only false, its laughable.
Lastly, I will comment on your web site. It seems to be a vehicle to anonymously make false, misleading, inaccurate and damning charges against individuals or companies. I happened to find the report on Allied Doors by mistake. It is an error filled one-sided story that has probably cost this company business. I can only imagine how many others unknowingly lost business, friends and good reputations as a result of your reports.
I would think it appropriate to contact the individual or company you call a rip-off before you publish inaccurate reports. Anyone reading one of your reports should understand that you make no attempt to produce accurate facts, verify information, or notify the individual or company reported on.

I am truely sorry that Allied has put you throught this. Let me start by telling you that as a professional garage door installer for 10 years, the only way that you could possibly be having the problems you're explaining is that Allied DID NOT install the door to installation and safety standards.
The bowing and the top sections being split in the center of the door is mainly caused by them not installing proper braces, tracks and other hardware. The other company you had come out was completely right.
Unfortunately, the other company did not fully explain that by the damage that has already occured to your door, the only was that you could have it fixed so that you won't have anymore problems in the future (at least 15 or more years) is to have the damaged sections replaced, the hardware and tracks also replaced. This is usually very costly and is actually cheaper to replace the entire door.
Stanley (the maker of your doors) can't really do anything. Because they were the manufactors of the ddor they only apply their warranty of, I believe was a year, regardless of them discontinuing the manufactoring. But, Allied is responsible no matter what they try to tell you. You need to send letters to the Trade Commission, your Attorney General, Your Chamber of Commerce, and who ever will listen to your problem. You can file a complaint with your BBB, but that won't do you any good beacuse what I will explain to you next.
I have filed a report on the BBB and CBBB. You see Allied is another name for Precision Garage Doors. They are a scam company. The BBB's and CBBB are turning their heads when it comes to this companies scams. They are nationwide and Allied is just one of their many names. I fyou look up Precision reports you'll see mine and others with their many names listed. I hope this helps you and again I am sorry they put you through this.
