Complaint Review: Allied Interstate West

It is appalling to me that Allied Interstate West is able to continue in business! For a period of two weeks in April, I was harassed nightly by a "Ben" attempting to collect a Verizon account from my 25-year old son by the same name. My son, who lives in Pa., has never lived with me in North Carolina, yet they "found" him on the Internet and started calling me. But the person they found was his Father, not him. I advised "Ben" of this and requested that they not call me again. He said "noted" after I had to threaten him with court or agency action following his continued harassment and smartass attitude.

I thought that maybe this matter had ended until this evening when I received a call from another Allied caller. This guy was even more abusive, and when I finally convinced him that he had the wrong person, and advised him that he needed to get his facts straight, he became verbally abusive and again, smartass! I expressed my hope that he was not recording the conversation, and he immediately snapped that he was recording every word. When I advised him that he might be in violation of Federal and/or State law, he seemed to derive even greater pleasure from this, promising me that he would "call me every night until I wished I didn't have a phone"!

This treatment is despicable, particularly since I have a spotless credit record over decades.

I sincerely hope you will take this serious and investigate Allied Interstate West.
