I am currently working for a company of theifs, cheats and liars. I recieved my paycheck two weeks ago and I was missing six hours. I showed my site supervisor the pay stubs that had the hours missing. I got my next check and still my hours were not on there. It was claimed by the account manager that it was due to a time change. But there is no way on this earth that a change in time (i.e clocks set foward or back an hour.

My site supervisor then told me that if I needed
confirmation that he would have the account manager talk to me about it. And in fact the other two officers were not missing six hours on their checks. Even the officer who was on duty that night with me. It doesn't matter because we all know the true goals behind allied security and what they stand for. RIPPIN People Off.

But I am still employed but the future is Still pending and my position with this crummy company

To Keep Others From Making Our Mistakes...

#9UPDATE EX-employee responds

Fri, December 01, 2006

I read what the last guy had to post and I have to admit it brought back a lot of REAL NICE MEMORIES...

Of working for one company where the guy who owned it was bragging about being a former CIA employee... and he probably was using it as a money laundering operation. I heard tales about him using his clandestine Latin American cocaine connections to get the best coke to the elite folks, including some big lawyers and judges --which is why he would be able to beat the rap IF anyone was stupid enough to arrest him or try to expose him...

You were so right about the cement overshoes. HE had 3-4 guys gangstalk me and I had to leave my apartment in the middle of the night. That was just one of the many companies I worked for that MAY Have been a money laundry for a cartel!

I just got sick and tired about supposedly providing protection and security for premises and seeing what went on in them -- yuppies sneaking priceless carpets down 25 flights of office bldg stairs, past the security cameras and into their cars --and the JANITORS get blamed! The wannabe Yuppie maintenaceman hiding in the mail closets and intercepting mail bound for Tiffany's jewelers and designer good for the Chanel, Blass, etc. boutiques in the exclusive office complex I guarded once... The inhouse for Tiffany's popped him good and I was there when the cops came and got him. The guy was good, his face never changed expression...I knew he was up to no-good when on a $250 a week salary, he suddenly starts driving a silver-colored Volvo with the turbo engine. They searched his pockets and six Rollex Presidential watches with all the real diamonds ( HUGE ONES!) on the case were found and eight diamond rings 1-3 carats were found there!

And I remember how isolated and alone I felt having to work on the holidays with the cold, sleeting wind freezing ice on the cheap plastic cover of the golf cart and how cold my feet were even though I had thermal insulated socks and boots!

No one EVER said THANK YOU and no one EVER had anything civil to say to us. It was like they were too afraid to take out their frustrations, nastiness and rudeness out on the cops and because we wore cop-like uniforms, they took it all out on us without fear of reprisal!

I didn't really expect it but when you are the front line defense--before even the cops between them and whoever or whatever it was they hired our company to protect them from --at least they could have a little bit of appreciation sometimes.
Or we are just there to get them a lower property insurance rate as a "fire watch" or something similiar.

The pay is an insult. The working conditions are crap.

Now I drive a truck. I live in it. The pay is a lot better and I am warm in the winter and cool in the summer and get excercise on the RARE occasions when I have to bustthe freight into the warehouse.

Best of all, I don't have any alcohol-swilling, dope smoking paycheck scamming SOB raking in all the money I make for him and just giving me the scraps...

It's hard to look professional when your stomach is growling with emptiness and if your next check bounces, you will have no place to live and you can't put your pistol in the pawn again because you might not have enough money to get it out...and you would like to have a car so you woudl have som way to get out of teh weather on the construction posts the company puts you on but you don't know if the stupid cheap-a*s security job is going to outlast your car payments or not...

I have been in the dangerous situations with an empty magazine because I could not afford to feed myself AND buy ammunition too --and that is even in a professional bulk discount!

In a truck, I am not stuck in lockdown on some stupid security post. I can go places.

If the clients REALLY knew how we felt because of our aorking conditions, I think they would understand that the private security really is a ripoff!

I think we need the government to step in and make them pay FEDERAL LEVEL BENEFITS!

Contract Security Companies In General: Somethings you should consider before applying with on or think about if you are working for one now.

#9Consumer Comment

Fri, September 01, 2006

Have you noticed that the stories on this site all sound the same regardless of the security company involved or the area of the country involved?

There is a reason for this and one gentleman in another section of Rip Off Report who stated he was the branch manager of a contract security company pretty much summed it all up in his article.

ALL contract security companies (guard companies) regardless of what they say or promise are nothing more than staffing services. The product they provide are bodies in uniform, nothing more. In Houston, TX there are currently 126 companies of this kind of service listed with many smaller ones that aren't and many not even licensed.

As far as contract service providers go, these companies are "bottom dwellers"- the last on the list to get paid, so to speak, as far as their clients go. Some operate as part of larger companies that provide other contract services, such as cleaning, parking, and so forth. All market themselves as something they aren't, usually relating to law enforcement or the military. The clients that hire them...well, that's a another can of worms completely. Suffice to say, they are well aware of what they hire and what is paid.

Most of these companies will hire anyone that walks in the door regardless of what is said about background checks. Many are proud of this behind closed doors as they "give jobs to people who are otherwise unemployable..." and you can read what you want to in that and be accurate. It all comes down to "quantity, not quality at a cheap price" at all levels. Pay is low because most contracts are low bid...and I can guarentee it will stay that way as competition is massive and brutal. "You get what you pay for..." in terms of service and the clients that hire them know this.

Guards are hired to be "fall guys" for the client and for insurance purposes. They are a cheap source of manpower and will do/take ANYTHING, even jobs that have nothing at all to do with security. In this vein, clients want someone there, in a uniform, looking good, who won't ask questions (or see too much) and not too bright.

Guard companies are considered bottom level employment which is why some of the things that go on in it are "overlooked" by regulating agencies. Some companies are far worse than one might think and if you work for a company like this and you had something considered a real threat, you wouldn't be writing it here! (Can you say "cement overshoes?")You can expect to experience the following treatment or more for the time you are in the business:
* To be lied to and on by everyone, including discrimination.
* To NOT be supported at every opprotunity (i.e Thrown to the wolves)
* To work every weird and bizzarre shift under dangerous conditions with VERY LITTLE PAY and often that (the pay) has...problems...
* To put up with verbal, implied, and sometimes physical coercion and abuse by not only the bad guys, but often the client AND the guard company supervisors and management.
In short, they are temporary employment solutions and not much more. If you have been with one for a year, then you've been there six months too long. The prevelant philosophy is summarized "No one is twisting your arm to work here. There are a dozen others waiting for your job that we can pay less and make more (money)" (Unfortunately, they are often right in this) It is also a taken that you know the risks and demands of the job BEFORE you fill out the application.

In this day and age, you think it would be different. Does the industry need revision? YES. But don't hold your breath waiting for it.

If you don't want to be treated like a sub-human piece of meat, then don't go to work as a guard because more often than not, you will be.

No, it isn't right.

Industry needs overhaul

#9UPDATE EX-employee responds

Mon, August 07, 2006

The laws need changed.

1) Ohio needs to mandate a minimium of 40 hours training, 144 for armed security.

2) Employers need to pay the fees to register each employee. The current $35 or $50 registration fee would really add up at 300%+ turn over rate. Why does an employee pay for this if it doesn't transfer.

3) Unionize! This just won't work. Why? With 300%+ in turn over no one stays long enough to organize.

4) Educate the insurance and client management. A $5.15 an hour guard is usually a waste. The guard is sleeping or scrounging for food in the building. Most guards don't care enough about the job, losing it is by no means a deterent.

************************

Question to the client. Due you really feel comfortable leaving your multi-million dollar building to someone making less than janitor?

Do you expect me to act in your best intest? My resenting you because I can't afford food two days before payday. Having to chose between gas, food, or meds.

Lastly being looked down on by your employees who you want me to protect. At $5.15 everyone knows I'm a dog that won't bite. After a 24 hour shift because I need the money gives you zero protection.

The industry needs an overhaul.

Please quit this gang of crooks, thugs, paycheck theives and ripoff artists before it is too late and GET A JOB WHERE YOU WILL BE TREATED BETTER!
I think Organized Crime pays better and possibly even treats their employees better although other former security persons have expressed to me that they think some kind of organized crime is in charge of many of the private contract security companies.
ALLIED is the WORST of the WORST!
Allied/Spectraguard or ALLIED BARTON or whatever the heck they are calling themselves now will NEVER get any better. They save on having to give people raises and benefits by making the working environment so oppressive and untentable and HELL LIKE that nobody wants to stay and thus they keep their costs down. They think that all workers are dispensible and interchangeable and idiots anyway and that another fool will come along so they do not try to keep the ones they have. They also think the client won't know the difference. The client as a rule doesn't give a dam how BAD the security guards are... he or she has LOW expectations and thinks that security guards are subhuman and low IQ anyway.
The only reasons most of these corporation have security personnelthere on site is for INSURANCE purposes so they get a lower insurance rate for their corporation.
IF INSURANCE COMPANIES WOULD GET WISE and NOT give these corporations a break for having security guards 24/7 on their premises, then maybe some of this exploitation and cruelty would stop.
K-9s and guard dogs and patrol horses have better treatment legislated for them and limits on the conditions under which they can work than the human security officers which is why I suspect that security officers ARE considered SUBHUMAN, hell, even a patrol K-9's life is worth more than ours under the State of Texas Board or Commission or Bureau that regulates private security contracting companies.
As I pointed out earlier, why should the security company give me a 25 cent or 50 cent per hour raise when they can get any idiot without specialized training off the street and pay him or her minimum wage and put them in the little polyesther suit and sit them in an office building lobby with a minimum of training??? You would not believe how these idiots pinch their pennies.
If a genuine crisis or emergency happened, I wonder how effective their polyesther non-trained dummy would be? Not very. I wonder if these corporations who hire this ( the American version of sweatshop labor) know or even care how "SAFE" they REALLY are with this sort of person in theis office building or sitting in their corporate lobby. A polyesther blazer alone is NOT going to deter a nut or a terrorist or any armed criminal. Get real.
These corporate bozos have NOT a CLUE!
I have to shake my head and be thankful that I am training for another career far removed from the exploitative, cutthroad, racist, sexist, discriminatory and sexist private security contracting companies.
THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. But some just rip you off more than others.
