Allied Universal (AU) is a horrible company to work for because they do not care about their employees who are merely just warm bodies to be dispatched and abused at various contracted work sites. The pay is low, and any pay raise must come from the client / job site. AU keeps about 70% of the contract bill rate for themselves, while the leftover is given to the officers as pay.

The benefits are very expensive in the long run and all the hype they advertise about doing things for their employees is just smoke and mirrors. There are no sick days and all time off is un-paid which means there is no real vacation. The company is tyrannical in how they restrict overtime for employees because that would cut into the manager’s quarterly bonuses. Employees are treated like spokes on a giant wheel with little to no genuine concern for their well being just as long as there is a warm body to work the shift. Imagine making $10 or $12 an hour and having a medical plan that costs $684 per year with a $6000.00 yearly deductible which tops out at only 70% payment once the deductible is met.

All the bragging about helping Veterans is a sham too. AU hires Veterans because the company receives several thousands of dollars in IRS Tax Credits under the “Work Opportunity Tax Credit”,  “Returning Heroes Tax Credit” and the “Wounded Warriors Tax Credit” for each Veteran they hire in which nothing is given back to the employee. To add insult to injury, AU does NOT recognize Veteran’s Day as a holiday because they don’t want to pay Overtime to all the Veteran’ s they hire that must work on that day. The only thing AU cares about is making money and looking good to share holders while the employees are treated like indigent un-skilled labor.
