Complaint Review: Allin Exporters

Allin Exporters is an Indian-based apothecary company that sells essential oils, hydrosols (hydrolats) and exotic perfumes.

     I suspected their shipment of Calendula oil as being adulterated (mixed with undisclosed chemicals) by its fragrance, despite the canister stating otherwise. It smelled like artificial esters were added to the batch.

     I tested the oil by adding drops to a glass of water.  It separated into three substances: a sticky/waxy substance that sunk to the bottom, an oily skim at the water surface, and a bit of the orange coloring around the rim of the water.  Essential oils do not separate in or mix with water.

     Naturally, I emailed the company with the attached photos requesting a refund (the website states "No hassle returns" on the main page).  After waiting a few days and attempting to send reminder emails, the company kept stating that they were investigating the issue.  The problem is, they were untruthful about their product and now they're giving me the run-around, not wanting to issue a refund.

     I opened a dispute case through PayPal and am currently awaiting a response.
