I traded my car 7 days ago.  I called Allstate to remove the car I am trading and add the new car I am replacing it with.  The person at the 800# for Allstate said she could do that but I would not have insurance on the old car while I drive it to the car dealership.   She told me I needed to call back the next day to remove the old car.

I called back the next day to remove the old car I had sold the day before.   Later that day I checked my policy, they had my old car still on my policy and had removed my new car!

I called back to explain their mistake and before hanging up confirmed twice with the rep that I now had just 2 cars on my policy and made her repeat to me what cars were to stay on the policy.

The next day, I had all three cars on my policy!  I called my local Allstate office, the rep there told me the policy was a mess and it would take awhile to correct it to remove my old car.   Two days later, all three cars are still on my policy.  So I called my local agent back, she then said she saw the "request" to remove my old car and said she left it alone and it will work out.  I reminded her that I have a $182 bill from allstate due in 7 days due to having an extra car on my policy.  She said it ususally takes 7 to 10 days to remove a car and it will be off before the bill due date.

Today 7 days later since I first called to remove a car that someone else now owns, all three cars are still on there.   I received an email today that if I do not pay my bill in 6 days, I will no longer have insurance on my vehicles.  Lord help me!

UPDATE ALLSTATE

10 days after I sold my car, Allstate finally took it off my policy.  But, Since the new car I replaced it with is cheaper to insure, they increased the other car on our policy by 57%!!

Our 2015 Jeep went from $240 every 6 months to $377!  We did not change anything about the policy.  We both have 850 credit scores, no accidents and no claims.  What a rip off.  We have already received quotes from other insurance companies saving us about $500 a year.  We will be pulling our two homes and 2 cars from Allstate.  Goodbye Allstate!!
