I was assigned to Allstate Financial Services when one of my credit cards was charged off.  I made payment arrangements for monthly drafts from my checking account.  Then in October, they took out two payments, two days apart.  When I called them on it, they told me I was wrong, even after I faxed them a bank copy of the cleared check.  They were very rude and hung up on me.  I did get a refund check a week later.  New payment arrangements were then made and the balance was given to me, still nothing in writing.  Then in December, they took over $700 from my checking account when all I authorized was $100.  My balance at that point was only a little over $400.  They literally stole the extra $300 from me.  They claimed they sent me a refund check for the full $700, but almost two weeks later, I have received nothing and everytime I call, I get a different story and passed from person to person.  I am behind on my mortgage payments because of this.  I do not know what to do, but I am writing this because I want to warn others to make sure you get arrangements in writing and DO NOT give out your checking account number until you do.  They told me I owed the $700 balance, but I knew I accepted a settlement for less, but since I don't have it in writing, I'm afraid I am out the money.  I will persist, however, and report these people to every agency that I can, including my local police.
