Allstate Insurance Company Allstate lowballing homeowners after Hurricane Sandy Woodbridge, New Jersey
Allstate insurance company leaving Sandy victims high and dry and Hurricane Sandy. Multiple reports on the instances all over the internet about lowballing or denying claims and other bad faith insurance practices. Other instances report only partial payments of coverage that was purchased
One Sandy homeowner only got $37.74 after deductible- despite having flood insurance but a basement was not included in the flood insurance policy as a room. Already over 550 comments on this patch.com page covering the event
Another couple in their SIXTIES whose house was used in the Allstate commercial for a post-Sandy commercial were DENIED by Allstate when they filed for damages from Sandy. Allstate said damage wasn't covered because the damage was from floods and they didn't have flood insurance- but neighbor told them the roof had been ripped off by the high winds and not floods.
Then they used photos of their house for their "feel good" commercials.
Peoplesworld.com reports that other claims include homeowners who had paid premiums for storm insurance for 15 years, but were denied because floods aren't covered under storm insurance.
One of the Allstate youtube commercials claims, "We will be close and ready to be deployed quickly....So we are ready to help our customers with their claims as they need them". As of 3/22/13 it has only a "dislike" red bar and the comments were turned off. If youre not hiding anything why turn off the comments?
