I spoke with Omega on 27 Aug 2004 to arrange a move and storage on 30 Aug 2004. I was told he could provide 4 men at $110/hr. They were scheduled to arrive at 8:30am it was after 9:00 am when the arrived they claimed it was 8:40 when they arrived. The guy in charged gave me a stack of forms to fill out while the other 3 started moving my stuff. He did not give me a chance to read the forms he said I need you to sign here, initial here and while this is going on he is also asking what needs to be moved constantly distracted me. He had a very heavy accent so he was hard to understand. They works were I believe greek and latino, they spoke very little English. Then they said several of my boxes needed to be repacked. They tried to disassemble a curio cabinet and my bed when this did not work they put some of the pieces back together and wrapped the curio in bubble wrap. The bed they just dragged out of the house. They went through my refrig and took all my bottled water without asking, they took some of the beer also. The man in charge had them send another man because he said this would speed up the move. I told Omega that I had a refrig and a dryer that needs to be moved he said no problem, he did not tell me there would be an additional charge per item. I was charge $40 for the frig and $30 for the dryer. They finished around 4:45pm. Then I was told I had to pay a 10 to 15% gratuity, that had to be paid in cash $820, no receipt given. The rate on the contract that I had already signed was changed to $135/hr. The move came to $5440 for 10.5 hours this includes the unloading of the truck at their storage facility. The actual move was only $1418 but the packing supplies they used cost $4220. First month was free according to Omega and storage was $250/mo. Early Oct I received a storage bill for $440. I have called twice to speak to Omega and been told to call back at 11:00 each time, at that time he will have the storage bill in front of him and ready to discuss.
