I tried to replenish both of my phones on line and it told me that the system could not replenish at this time and to try again later. I tried later in the day, since hubby had to have it for his job. Still the same thing ! So I called them and they tried it. They told me their systems were down. Later I went into the Alltel center and it was back up and had charged for each and every time I'd tried !

They told me oopps... they could not refund me the money, even though I didn't have all of the amount in my account and sorry that I'd have to pay the bank fee for each fee that they charged me ! Also even if you've not run out of minutes, they still charge me the $1 a day for unlimted this and that and also for each time I add money to my phone, they charge me anadditional .99.

My sister in law and her daughter are also having a time with alltel prepaid wireless. Seems that sis n laws friend knows someone at the alltel center and that woman keeps giving this so called friend their cell #'s and they are getting death threatens made on them daily. You can't call them without text messages flooding in with threats. The stalker gained access to the account and now it's red flagged and no one can get into it, alltel says not even they can access it !

So sister in laws daughter goes out and buys them new phones and she had $30 already on her phone and when you buy a phone, it comes with minutes, etc. They told her either she give up her $30 for 30 days, or give up the bonus minutes that come with the phone, that she just bought. Right there is a scam in itself. You buy the phone and it comes with minutes, but they take minutes from you. God forbid if you have money on it already and just want to upgrade, because they won't credit the funds you already have on your phone.

I've been dealing with this crap for over 2 months now and getting no answers, but that stalker sure does get what she wants !

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

i worked for alltel for 3 years. during my tenure there, i activated, changed phone numbers and serviced more prepaid phones than i care to imagine. if there is someone who is taking control of the phone, it is simply because they know the account holders personal information. prepaids are not as secure as regular contract phones because we dont have your social security number to verify when you call.

your only line of defense on a prepaid phone is to add a password. if an employee were to give out information on that phone without verifying the password, then they would be fired. alltel takes customer privacy very seriously.

seems that this so called stalker has the phone number and the online pin to make changes. there is NOTHING, and i mean nothing in the prepaid system that would make a rep unable to access the account. the only red flagging of accounts is to names and addresses of known fraudulent users, and stolen ESN's (electronic serial numbers)

your best option here is to take id to the alltel store to prove account ownership and have the phone number changed. its THAT easy. then set a password on the account. this problem will not happen again if it is done in the right way. and whoever is the owner of this phone, make sure they dont give out their number to people they dont want to have it. and choose an online pin that isnt something someone would guess.

lastly, seems you think someone at alltel is giving out your friends information. if you change the number, this 'bad employee' if they exist wont be able to find it. prepaids can only be accessed by the phone number. you can not look up by name.

theres my 2 cents. coming from someone who did this 10-15 times a day for 3 years. its the truth.
