I purchased extra insurance for $125.00 to cover $125,000 of coverage for our move. These movers damaged many of my pieces of expensive furniture. Even though the company, Furniture Medic (who is hired by Allways Moving), came out and documented all the damages, including photographs, Allways Moving & Storage refuses to have anything repaired. Furniture Medic faxed the repair Invoice to them on Thursday, April 28, 2005 after a request by Cliff, a manager at Allways Moving, to have Furniture Medic come out to document our damages.
I have spoken with both Andrew and Emad (sp?) (owners) and both have told me that they have to "talk to each other about this first," however, after numerous calls from both Furniture Medic and me, they now do not return calls at all.

Furniture Medic is located at 2540 N. 35th Ave. #34 Phoenix 85009 Ph.: 6024420424.

Armando Vasquez, the General Manager of Furniture Medic, is the person who came out to document our damages. He and Judy from Furniture Medic have called Andrew and Emad from Allways Moving numerous times and have been continually lied to by them, saying they will get back to them and never do.

There is no question that they have lied to us and Furniture Medic, and that Fraud, Negligence and Misrepresentation on their part has and is still occurring.

I either want my furniture repaired through Furniture Medic, based on the Invoice and Repair Notice they faxed to Allways Moving and as originally stated verbally to me by Andrew (prior to our move) that, should there be any damage to our property, they would repair all pieces through Furniture Medic, or I want a settlement of $500.00 and I'll repair all myself.

Response to Larry from Tucson Furniture Medic is hired by Allways Moving

Thank you for your response, Larry. To begin, Furniture Medic is hired by Allways Moving. Only Allways Moving can authorize Furniture Medic to begin the repair service as Allways will be paying them - I do not hire them separately, unfortunately.

And...that's the crux of the problem. Even though Furniture Medic has called Allways to receive authorization to begin the repairs (as well as we calling Allways numerous times), Allways simply refuses to authroize any repairs. Now, mind you, Furniture Medic has a full report including photos of all the damages that the movers created. Full documentation was also reported and seen by Cliff a manager at Allways, who moved us into our new location.

The "insurance" on the moving form is, indeed, an insurance, which as you know, is simply a contractual agreement that should anything be damaged, up to the amount of insurance purchased to cover a certain amount of cost, the movers will pay. That's why the insurance is there.
In this case, Allways has acted in a fraudulent and negligent manner. I've contacted the Attorney General's office as well as other agencies to look into their deceitful practices.

I do not understand why the moving company has any say in whether the insurance pays off. Did you purchase insurance or just some sort of damage waiver/agreement?

If it was called "insurance" on the contract, then file a complaint with the Arizona Department of Insurance. These creeps may be selling insurance without a license. Your complaint will definitely rattle their cage.

I used to rent trucks and when we offered "insurance" what we were really offering was an agreement that we would not make the customer pay for any damage they did to the truck. We were waiving our right to collect from them. I don't know if your mover really offered insurance or just some sort of agreement to pay for damage to your property.
