We decided to buy a new Kia because of the high safety ratings and they are dirt cheap.  Well they were dirt cheap until we got to the dealer and saw that they mark up all the cars by about $4000 for "Market" reasons.  I could fly to the mainland and get a new car and ship it back and still be cheaper than that!  But hey no big deal it is Hawaii and everything is expensive.

So we tell them we want to walk away with no more than $21000 in finance.  We were trading in a car that had a bit of negative equity but it is cheaper in the long run than spend the arm and leg on gas we have been.

Our 4 square (the paper with this is how much your payments are this is how much for your trade, ect.) we signed had us paying around $520 a month for 60 months or $470 or so for 72 months.  Since our old payment was only a little less than the $520 we decided to take that one and just pay a little more each month.  Now here we are a few days later and they call and tell us "You need to come in and give us $700".... Odd... So then I start going over the paperwork, these a**hats snuck in another 12 months making it $520 over 72 months stealing $6000 from us!

They are predatory, take advantage of the military and treat the customers like crap.  They didn't give us our safety inspection paperwork so my husband couldn't get on to base, took 2 days for them to get it to us and 2 trips to BOTH of their dealerships to try and talk to someone in charge.

The girl working the counter at Nimitz was downright a b***h.  Insisting no one had office keys on the weekend and that the "owner flies back to his house on Maui on the weekends" and other rude and untrue remarks.  After talking with someone else we found that 3 people have keys to the office and that it isn't even in the "owners office" like the girl had said!

Do NOT buy from these guys, they are over priced and ripping of the men and women in the military.  They drag out the process so your kids are falling apart then CHANGE your contract and LIE to you!  STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY!

First off, fraud and deception should not be perpetrated on any person, military or not. The Sleazy American Car Business is what it is. That's why we all need to be smart consumers.

Your direct quote: "So then I start going over the paperwork, these xxxxxxx snuck in another 12 months...". Did you want to extend the loan on this depreciating asset to 72 months? Apparently not. Why then did you NOT read the contract BEFORE you signed it so that you could have caught this BEFORE YOU obligated yourself to it? How is this their fault if YOU simply signed whatever was put in front of you, obligating yourself to terms and conditions YOU had absolutely zero knowledge of?

Of course they tried to deceive you and their attempt worked because you did something dumb.

Next time, whenever somebody asks you to sign something, you read and understand what you're signing BEFORE you sign it.

Yes, I hope I made you so damned mad that you will remember me and remember the lesson presented here.

My wife and I went to look at their car selections and we told the salesman that we were just window shopping. The salesman insisted for us to go into the showroom to see some vehicles. The showroom was like ghetto with papers everywhere and very disorganized. Everytime we asked about a particular car or SUV he would tell us it was sold. The question then becomeswhy bring us to the showroom when the selections were all sold! We again informed him that we were just window shopping and wasn't ready to buy yet. To our surprise he told us we were wasting his time and for us not to come back until we were ready to buy! He walked out the door and joined his fellow salespeople chatting under a covered gazebo. Before we left we saw all of them looking at us and smirking! Went for a Hyundai instead which was a totally different experience! Tony Hyundai was great!

After our last run in we thought we had most of the things worked out.  Linda the woman who works in the office at the Nimitz store who was very, very rude and lied to us about the location of our safety inspection and said the owner is in Maui every weekend didn't give us any more problems, but still was short when we went in to get our paperwork in order the following week.  They managed to get us down to 60 months with a payment of what we were talking about to begin with.  But of course they wanted $700 bucks from me.  Some how they figured out well hey you give us $300 and we will call it good.  So that was the plan.  Of course this was before they found out I had made a report on here!  A few days later I get a call asking me about my post and I explained that I felt that it was all true and I would take it down once everything was finished the way it should be.  Agreed.

So here we are our car pay off took weeks apparently adding another $93 they want me to bring them.  But they are blackmailing me saying that if I take my report down then they will pay it!  What a joke.  This place has the worst service, now I am forking over $393 plus they took so long on my payoff I had to pay half a payment on my old car and $530 in a week for our first car payment because they wouldn't make our first payment later.  These guys are a joke.  I am not taking it down and if it costs me $93 so be it!  Everyone should know to STAY AWAY FROM ALOHA KIA DEALERS!  SCAM SCAM SCAM!
