I received a letter in the mail from this company, along with a cashiers check for $3950 from the Community State Bank of Orbisonia in PA. The letter states that I am to take this money and use it to "mystery shop" selected stores, and then fax receipts to Alpha Consumer Research. I was also to wire them $3,000 of the $3950 they sent me. I called the Community State Bank of Orbisonia to verify funds on this check and I was told it is a scam. They have also received calls from people in other states who received "sweepstakes notifications" accompanied by similar cashiers checks. Some were supposedly from Disney World as well. The person I spoke with at the bank said this cashiers check was fabricated by the people at Alpha Consumer Research and it is not actually one of their real checks. I would advise anyone else who gets one of these letters to immediately constact your local authorities. I have called the phone # on the letter they sent me, but it is an answering machine and the number traces back to Ontario, Canada.
