Complaint Review: Alpha pools AKA luxury pools AKA Greg Ibrahim

We hired Greg Ibrahim to build our family a pool. He seemed like he really knew his stuff at first. Then it all unfolded. He met my wife and I one evening and showed us his presentation on a laptop and it all looked extremely professional. He took pics of the back yard and showed my family playing in the pool on a virtual program. Looked excellent, my wife and 8 year old son was very excited to have the pool and create many family memories in our home. So we sat with Greg for about a hour and I was skeptical about giving him a down payment because I like to get at least 3 estimates. But somehow between all the glamour of the laptop presentation my wife and Greg talked me into this complete disaster. A very long and miserable story cut short Greg is a complete liar and a scam artist. He took a down payment for the pool and after that nothing but excuses and lies after so. We had our sons graduation party in July and the pool was supposed to be started after the party. Well that came and went and no pool. My wife and I contacted Greg on many different occasions with concerns about starting the project before winter gets here. Greg's response was oh no worries you'll be swimming in your pool in no time. We let it go for awhile then we called again only to get more excuses. The city didn't issue your permits, the engineer messed up, drain tile issues, drainage issues on the plans etc etc etc. If there was an excuse he used it. He blames the city at least a dozen times, along with the engineer.

After giving him a down payment for the project, Greg stated he would need another draw in order to have the pool delivered to our home. So I told my wife to put a check in the mail for the pool delivery in excess of 17k. But for some reason something said call the city and check on the permits. So I did, and thank God I did. Greg was telling us the delay was on the city's building department side and that he had no control over how long the process takes. More excuses from him as usual. The city said no plans have been submitted and Greg is not even a licensed contractor, so he uses someone else's builders license to pull permits. Well it seems that Greg's licensed builder stopped him from using their license for other projects that he had done wrong on supposedly. So I called my wife to take the check out of the mailbox and I'm extremely greatful I did. Greg stated how its not his fault blah blah blah as usual. After dealing with this month after month my wife decided to Google his name. And what a reality check it was indeed. Many horror stories about Greg and his multiple pool companies from other people just like us. Greg uses the exact same lies and dishonest ways to con people out of their hard earned money. I know that it is illegal in the state of Michigan to soliciate homeowners for any remodeling job over $500.00.

Greg is not a licensed builder and hopefully will never become one. He uses a magazine to advertise to soliciate homeowners for a new pool. Then takes money from people and feeds them lies to deceive them along the way. We asked Greg for our deposit back then he started calling and begging for a face to face with my wife and I to justify his ways I guess. We denied his request so he started emailing us and texting us begging for time to explain himself. We still denied his request. We just wanted our money back and to be done with the frustration and headache of this situation. It's been over 4 months and we have came to the conclusion that we will not get our money back. So he leaves us with no other option but to seek other options to recover our money. And hopefully warn other homeowners about this criminal so they don't get taken by this con artist. We are in the process of combining Greg's other victims to file a class action lawsuit against Greg and his multiple companies. We are also in contact with the state of Michigan and filling multiple complaints against him for not being a licensed contractor and taking money for home improvement projects form homeowners. In the state of Michigan if convicted could be a felony. Greg has also been on channel 7 news for the exact same thing he did to another homeowner. Google his name and read for hours. This hopefully gets the attention of someone in a position that can help us homeowners with our lawsuit. This is a warning to all homeowners looking for a pool contractor. Do not hire this guy because you'll be submitting your story on this site as well. Best of luck with your pool project. Choose wisely from a reputable pool company.
