Alpha Products Aka X-treme Scooters Alpha Products/X-treme Scooters sound good but bad product and worse support Newton Iowa
Wanted to give our grand-daughter what she'd asked for: this nifty little scooter that operated on an electric battery. Found it as made by X-treme Scooters, aka Alpha Products. They were great! $30 less than other sellers, and FREE SHIPPING to boot!
Problem is, it didn't work. Promised our grand-daughter to get a replacement, and then Alpha Products turned into Mr. Hyde: they didn't answer phone, or when we maneuvered to talk to "somebody, anybody" they'd promise to have someone call "within the next business day." Three times around this block told us something was up, but persistence finally got them to send (e=mail) a "support ticket". It asked us to report a detail about what lights lit, when the battery charges was plugged in, but the e-mail specifically said "Don't reply to this e-mail!" and gave no alternative.
Another round of phone calls, finally getting someone in Sales who said (you guessed it) "someone will call you within 24 hours." Well, like so many others who (we've now discovered) have reported their frustrations with Alpha Products, we ended up calling the credit card company we used to purchase it. The dispute is underway, we are confident we will not have to pay a cent, and are going to insist that the company pay the return shipping. Unfortunately, we have not done well by our grand-daughter. Lesson learned. FIRST, check out the Ripoff Reports before buying.
