Alpha Safe withdrew $399.00 from my checking account and I don't have a clue as to who they are.
The check was cleared by "Landmark Clearing."
The phone number on the back of the check is 888 228 6343 and turned out to be a Bass Pro Shop.
I am waiting for my Bank to react to my "Stop Payment," but after reading the accounts in the "RipOff Reports" I don't think I will be holding my breath.
It looks like I too will be changing my account number tomorow.

As the owner of Alpha Safe and Vault, Inc. I have been contacted by many, many people regarding this scam.  I have contacted the FBI and they advised me to tell people to report this to their bank's fraud division immediately!  The bank will then be in-touch with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.  ALPHA SAFE AND VAULT, INC. DOES NOT HAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Unauthorized Draft- Landmark Clearing

#3Consumer Suggestion

Mon, November 24, 2008

Landmark Clearing issued a letter in reference to this matter. Call them at 972-239-2327 and tell them what happened. They are a 3rd party payment provider and these fake telemarketers used them to clear their bogus drafts.

If that doesn't work, call back your bank and speak to their Fraud Management or Loss Prevention Department (don't talk to the plain call center joes) and tell them you want the item returned as an Unauthorized Draft. If you have to go to your branch to file an affidavit, then at least you'll be taken more seriously.
