Complaint Review: Alta Moda Italiana Rga Import-export

In a motorway service station near Manchester airport, 2 Italian men approached and offered to sell me some Armani jackets. They said they had just been to a trade show at the G-Mex (big conference centre in Manchester) and couldn't take the samples back with them to Italy as they would have to pay tax.

Showed Italian passport and airline ticket back to Milan that day which seemed genuine (but I guess I could have knocked them up with a colour printer in an hour or so). Offered to sell 4 jackets (3 womens and one womans) for 350. Figured they were rip off, but actually very nice (!) so offered 200 which they accepted.

Knew in my heart of hearts it was a scam but I needed a new coat and one was very nice! The others are going to my wife and family as Christmas presents (and yes, I am going to tell them they're fake!)

I think the name they are using (alta moda italiana) might actually be genuine as they have a website which seems legit. If they are then they should know con artists are using their name for nefarious purposes...
