I should have known "Altitude Advertising, Inc. was phony, but I got fooled. Saw their ad on careerbuilder.com, and it seemed like a great job w/ clients listed as the Chicago White Sox, Applebees, Chilis, various other restaurants and sports teams. Went to an interview yesterday w/ Greg-the "President". Spent only 7 minutes max in his office, and wouldn't let me get a word in, very fast talker...and rushed me out the door. Said he would let me know by the end of the day. He called back around 5 to let me know I was 1 of the 6 selected of 20 applicants and congrats. He told me to expect to shadow an account manager the next day, and to clear my schedule from 8:45-3:15pm.

On to today. In the waiting room-mind you...their "office" is very small w. NO clear indication/sign of the company name, "Altitude Advertising"-one of the red flags among many. When I was in the waiting area, I counted 8 other 2nd round interviewees in the waiting room-when he told me I was 1 of 6 chosen. Red flag again. Also, the waiting room was blasting a popular radio station, and currently playing the song "Lollipop" when I walked in. Would be seen as highly unprofessional elsewhere. Anyway, met w. a young "account manager", who I would be shadowing. By the way, he had only been working there for 5 days-another Red Flag. You think it would be in the office, right? NO! He gave me directions to a Sam's Club in Evanston, IL-approx 50 minutes away from the office location. Very suspicious. Why wasn't I told about this ahead of time? Any legit company would kindly inform interviewees of travel plans and reimburse interviewees for gas-as the round trip to this mysterious Sam's Club location would easily top over 2.5 hours round trip, w. rush hour traffic on the way back. You think the interviewee and account manager would carpool, esp. w. gas prices the way they are. Nope. I headed to my car, trusted my gut and knew there was something wrong with this-and headed straight home. UNPROFESSIONAL. RUSHED. SNEAKY. The best way to describe this company. Thankfully, I did not waste my time or gas driving an hour to Sam's Club to do who knows what. I was not told.

I got home and immediately started researching this company and Greg Mertes, and boom...I find out it's all a bunch of BS. Later I read reports that this company has you selling products in parking lots. Geez. Now it all makes sense. Please, please, please do NOT waste your time with this company-and always do research to see if a company is legit. The company's website is not good enough-dig around for more-you will save yourself time, gas, and the hassle.

Well, I see I was already beat to the punch. But indeed, Boomerang Marketing Group (read testimonials about them on here and dsmax the aftermath http://groups.msn.com/DSMAXTheAftermath ) is now Altitude Inc. or might even to by Altitude Advertising. I don't need to say much more about it, just DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!
