Altura Homes - Dallas Altura homes do research before you purchase ! Rockwall Texas
This was my 1st new home, I was excited and went to Altura , because I wanted to live in Dallas, I met the salesperson and was nervous when I asked questions about the home and how it was built,The sales person didnt know that much and I thought well let me go to the neighbors, that they had built for.. I was suprized to find out that almost all the neighbors 10 of them had problems with their home and that the company, doid nothing for them and that they were all going to take the builder to court.. There were plumbing problems, A.C. problems and drainage issues to name a few.I was still looking at their homes, why I thought they were cute and I was naive. I went to the company and called the corporate office , no one returned my calls. interesting I was a prospect and no repies, So now Iwas curious with another builder in the neighborhood, I went to them and looked at home 2 doors down from Altura, while I was looking a man drove up while I was about to leave and said his name was Kerry, he said he was the project manager. I said I was looking and he wouldnt hardly leave me alone he was agressive and was trying to be a sales person I guess, well he finally went away when a homeowner from another Altura home was trying to talk tohim about a warranty issue He jumped in his car and drove off, The homeowner told me not to buy and warned me. He did research on the company and talked with the people building the homes that they are a very small company and that the Dad gave the company to his son , which is trying to compete with big builders, however they cut back on their homes quality so bad that they barely pass the cities inspection. And they dont pay their contractors, a number of their homes have liens on them from nat paying their bills Im writing this all because I dont want other people to fall for in a trap.. Check out the BBB on them, talk to the people that have bought their homes. Also ask them how long they have been in business, They claim to be building homes for over 27 years. and the sales people seem to have only been there a short time.. I went to a National builder bought a home on the same street as Altura and they all have something negative to say..
The Justin Webb is the owner of this company and the President Justin would not return my phone calls. when I had concerns about buying his home. So if you buy a home do research....

I bought a home from them in Buffalo creek in 2012. It is on Tennis Village Dr, Heath TX. I am so furstrated because I have warranty request that has been opened for months. What they do in my case is that they simply stall you by attempting to fix on of the various items. At it is often common that they will try to fix a problem over and over again because they never get the job right. This is my second new home so i have a basis to compare. My first is DR Horton and their warranty service for DR Horton is a night mare. If I know what i know now I would never have bougt a home from them. I called justin Webb on a number i found in this forum and got his vmail however, the system does not accept any messages. I think the company is a big Joke. Dont be a victim like me. I am looking for lawyers that can take up my case before my warranty period runs out. The sad thing is that they guy in charge of the warranty request in the area comes very often to my street looks me in the eye and simply ignores. Altura has 3 new building coming up on the street.

It sounds as if Altura had inexperienced builders working on the homes and perhaps unlicenced supervisors. They should be reported to ICE for investigation to determine if all employees and subcontractors are hiring legal employees and if not fined. The owners in the neighborhood should file a class action suit against the company to pay for repairs by a licenced contractor. The title insurance company should pay any unpaid contractors that have filed liens. That is why they purchase title insurance at closing. The owners are insured a clear title.
