Be careful of Carefree Coatings and Wayne McNeil. I had this very expensive job done on my house and it was not completed properly. There are several areas where the product was not applied properly and therefore is not protecting my house. Guess what... if Wayne McNeil does your house like he did mine, there is NOBODY ELSE in the State to fix it!!! He is the only contractor! The product also leaves visible streaks more evident in sunlight. Check the web for other postings!

When I pointed out the problems to Wayne McNeil of Carefree Coatings, he laughed, used foul language and even belittled my home, saying that I "don't live in a $500,000 house, so what did I expect?"

He did not act this way before he got my $6800.00 for the job.

Just be very careful of spray on siding, Wayne McNeil and Carefree Coatings of North Myrtle Beach. Now I am in a legal battle to either get some of my money back or get the job completed. Don't end up like me. Thoroughly inspect the job before paying the balance. He got my wife to sign off when I wasn't home, saying that he would walk around the house with me the following day. Never showed up..

Yes, after nearly a year of constant calls and letters, Wayne McNeil finally decided to complete the job he had started on my house.

The key to his decision to repair my house was almost 100% due to a heavy internet campaign, including the "Rip Off Report". Thanks to you guys, my house looks MUCH better!

Although Wayne DID come finish his original job and repair what was messed up on the house, he never cleaned up the overspray on my motorcycles. No response to letters (again).

I did say that I would try to "call of the internet campaign", but that is very hard to do once it has gotten out there. I told him I would do my best, but that I do not own the internet sites and may not even remember everywhere it was posted. I did do my best.

I WOULD use Alvis product and the MAIN company in the future, but as for Wayne McNeils company in Myrtle Beach, NOPE. As opposed to calling me and letting me know that this one was still out there on the internet, he posts derogatory, personal comments (as usual) like, "had a problem with this job, more precise, this customer" and "has a free coffe & doughnut attitude". My original post was a statement of facts about the job, not personal attacks. My original post was about the job, not a personal attack on Wayne.

I have never, in my life, had such a horrible sales experience. Look at these items:
1. Spelling & Sentence Structure of his response.
2. Personal attacks against his customer.
3. Only fixed house AFTER extreme internet pressure and said he would fix it IF I attempted to pull statements from the internet.

One part Wayne forgot to tell you (in relation to his reponse indicating that my complaints were insignificant). Alvis HQ sent another Alvis Contractor out of NC to look at my house to see if it was actually a bad job. This contractor was astounded and said "there are definite problems here" and "I can't believe this is supposed to be a finished job." He said he noticed problems as soon as he got out of his truck!

ALWAYS check the Rip-Off Report as well as BBB and the last five customers as references. If you have time, check out the person you are dealing with also.

Yes I did have a problem with this job more precise with this customer. I told Mrs. A. I could not get by in time for the sign off. I asked her to make sure the job was finished to her wishes before she signed the completion statement. The completion statement also states this. Mrs. A. wrote on the statement LOOKS WONDERFUL. Later they contacted me with a list of 120 items. I sent the crew back. Mr. A. said he was busy for them to fix what needed more work. A couple weeks later he called back saying they were still work to be done. I stopped by that day and ask him to walk around the house and show me the places. On the left side where he said there was a problem we could not fine any. He said you had to be there at a certain time of day to see it, we were 12 inches away from the wall. This was tipical of 95% of the problems on the list. I had planned to send my crew back again until his wife called about 5 minutes later and talked to me as if I had passed a school bus at 80 mph(she is a police woman) When I asked her to calm down she only got worse. Yes we both said some things we should not have,but I will not be talked to that rude when I am trying to resolve the problem. I sent a letter to the home office and to the customer explaining what happen. Later Alvis asked me to go back and settle the problem. When we finished Mr. A. said he was satisfied and would place a statement on the web stating this.He has not done as we agreed. One final point Me. A.said I pressured them into a decision. That is BULL. Our first meeting was in the spring of 02',they said it was not affordable at that time. They called back in Sept. 02' and said they were ready if the price was still the same. We sigined the contract Sept. 4, 2002. I have been installing Sprey on Siding in this area for 4 yrs. and 98% of my customers have been great to work for. These two were the exeption to the rule. I am sorry for any hard feelings relating to this job,but I will not be intimidated by someone that has a free coffee and doughnut attitude.
