I recently recieved a bill for $611 for about 30 calls to the (201) number. Most calls were for 1 minute. Redialed over and over. 3 calls were for more than 20 minutes. I NEVER dialed these numbers.

I called for an explanation. The customer "noservice" rep explained how I had agreed to accept their minidialer download and authorized dialing a long distance number to view live internet porn, and have it billed back to my telephone number. I daresay I have never authorized ANY kind of download on my computer. It is a rule at my house. It doesnt matter if I've ever visited a "porn" site, I would never go ANYWHERE on the internet that charges me. A budget rule! I went to my local consumer reporter website to find out what to do.

I was told to NOT pay the long distance charges and put them in dispute with my LD Carrier. I was advised to Call Alyon as well as send a certified letter, return-reciept, to them stating I dispute the charges. I did that, as well as advised them that if these charges show up on my credit report, I will drag them into a civil suit. I also filed a complaint with the FCC. I also heard that it would be a good idea to file a complaint with the FTC. I will do that next.

I was called by AT&T to give them authorization for these calls (not my LD carrier). They wanted my name and address to send me a bill. HA!HA! I told them no and advised that they should know better than to support a (censored) like this. They accepted my defferal of the billing.

This has been the biggest consumer related nightmare I've ever been involved in. Hopefully we can all stand up together and get this resolved.

Download the freeware "Spybot" and use it to get rid of all the crap Alyon illegally stuck on your computer.

Almost all the Government agencies mentioned have web sites that you can use to complain about Alyon. So it is not that difficult.

Send a WRITTEN letter to your States Attorney General's office and the FTC. Very Important.

If you have problems with ATT, who are WELL aware of Alyon's (censored), than go to your State's Public Service Commission.

Change the name of the dialer

#7Consumer Suggestion

Hey Kellie,

I read your report. I'm not surprised these (censored) are still screwing consumers. Here's a fix to stop that minidialer from dialing out. It's simple, change the name of the dialer. Find the modem in your control panel. The one I found was named "Access to". Just click on the name and change it to something else, it doesn't matter what you name it just change the name. It worked for me.

Now, you need to start filing complaints with the FTC, FCC, FBI, US Postal Service (for Alyon submitting a (censored)bill through the mail). Contact your state and national congressmen. Keep fighting these (censored), don't give in to their (censored).

Good luck from a fellow victim of Alyon's (censored),

apparently, you can rip-off consumers and get away with it.

Well, it only took 7 months for the FCC to respond to my complaint about Alyon Technologies. Their response?? "The matter you have outlined in your correspondence does not come under the jurisdiction of the FCC. We suggest you contact the Federal Trade Commission."

I have filed a complaint with the FTC, at the same time as filing the FCC Complaint. I have had no response from the FTC at this time.

I also have had to respond to additional bills from AT&T who provided the Long Distance network to the far off land the auto dialer called. Every time I get one, I call them and dispute the bill. I bet it ends up on my credit report...or if I ever want a new phone it creates problems...

So apparently, you can rip-off consumers and get away with it.
