I am writing to you today because I have a question about a possible bill our family might be receiving. Last night, after signing onto our dialup connection on my computer, I opened my home page and it brought up an unknown adult page for me. As this was not what it is normally set to, I searched around and found that it traced back to a company called Alyon Technologies.

From what I can guess, while I was surfing the intenet on the night before, either through a pop-up ad, or a virus, or someone hacking my computer, there was some software downloaded onto my computer without my permission. This software disconnected me from my regular dialup connection and dialed a new number located in New Jersey. This, in turn, was connected to a 900 number.

As I read from complaints, found on the site at the bottom of this page, not only do I believe that this will cause us to have long distance charges and a 10 cent per minute charge for the long distance call, but also a $5 per minute charge for an adult entertainment service that I have never used nor would want to use. I don't know how long I was connected to this service and am thinking that this could charge us somewhere from $100-$400. I have already filed complaints the FTC and the NY Attorney General. If we do receive a bill, I will contact the BBB and file a complaint with them as well.

I am reading that especially over the past few days many people are having problems with this company. I hope everyone writes to the FTC and their state's Attorney Generals. I am hoping that this is a fraud company and will be punished severely. If anyone recieves any information, or makes any headway in the prosecution or solution in dealing with this company, please let me know through a rebuttal. Thank you.

I recommend the following if and when you receive a bill from Alyon Technologies of Norcross Georgia

1. Write a Certified letter with return receipt to Alyon Technologies disputing the charges.

2. Go to your Attorney General's website and file a complaint. (I see you did that)

3. Go to the Federal Trade commission web site and file a complaint. http://www.ftc.gov (I see you did this as well)

4. The BBB of Atlanta will probably be of no real assistance to you. Read other complaints about Better Business Bureau.

5. File a complaint with your long distance phone carrier.

6. Finally,I suggest you write a letter to the Mayor of Norcross, Georgia
lwebb@norcross-ga-gvt.com The mayors name is Lillian Webb. . Norcross Webiste is http://www.norcross-ga-gvt.com/

Law enforcement checks the complaints on http://www.ripoffreport.com , so authorities will most likely read your complaint here.

Good Luck and post any progress.
