Alyon Technologies Trying to collect a two year old bill I never incurred Secacus New Jersey
Alyon Technologies I first started getting calls from a collection agency (First Credit of America) a few days ago. I usually hung up after they mentioned they were collecting for an internet porn site since I never view porn and neither does my wife. It sounded like a scam from the start
Today I stayed on the line to hear their story. The man had a thick accent and was hard to understand, but they were claming that I or someone in my household used their services three times on December 21, 2002 and twice more the next day, running up a bill of some $477.13
They were billing me, the person whose name was on the phone bill, though I had moved out of that apartment in 2000 and thought I had successfully transferred the Bell Atlantic account over to my roommate. Bell Atlantic forwarded my calls; most of my mail (besides junk) was forwarded, so I had no reason to think I was responsible for my old phone number. I also never heard from or received any bills from Alyon until now, though they apparently do not have my current address.
(On December 21st & 22nd, 2002 I was with my then 9-week old baby and wife, or at work, and did not have time for e-mail, let alone internet porn).
I will be taking the advice of S.N. in Kansas and sending copies of this letter to Alyon and the involved Attorneys General. I am mainly worried about my and my wife's credit record which is otherwise unblemished. I am very thankful for Rip-off Report since I really had no idea where this was coming from how to react.

You might also wish to copy everything you send to the FTC and file a report with them as well. There are a ton of rip-off reports here on Aylon. And don't forget your cease and desist letter (certified mail, return receipt requested), to the collection agency.
