AM EAgle, Ltd rip-off of $50 gas refund offer consumer fraud Granbury Texas *UPDATE ..refund after filing Rip-off Report
My wife and I responded to an offer to view property in Horshoe Bay outside Marble Falls, Texas. Part of the offer was "$50 worth of free gas". This turned out to be a mail fraud scheme from AM Eagle, Ltd of Granbury, Texas.
I have mailed off 4 of their "coupons" with the charge slip from the pump and a self addressed stamped return envelope. They claim they never received the first one. the 2nd one was sent on October 7, 2002. Their material claims it takes 4 to 6 weeks for you to get your $ 9.28 back( $ 10.00 minus two stamps.
I have waited 15 weeks-no refund. my 3rd one was mailed November 5th 2002. After 11 weeks I have no refund from that one either. I believe that I will never get a refund. Since all their materials are deliverd by the US mail,I plan to take this to the Post office and see if the postal inspectors will get involved.

After I filed the RipOff Rport on 1/14/03 I called the Horseshoe Bay Marketing Company to report my problems with AM Eagle, Ltd. to them. After describing my difficulties and getting the manager involved, I finally received a check for $ 30 for the 3 coupons I had already submitted. I have a commitment from HBMC that AM Eagle, Ltd. will handle my next two submissions quickly. Thanks to Macon Dunham of Horseshoe Bay Marketing Company and his staff.
