AM Payments Misrepresentation The rep from AM payments misrepresented the name of her company. Addison Texas
I was contacted by a rep (Thelisha Jenkins) from AM payments, but she didn't state that up-front. I asked her if she was with First Data, our current credit card processor, and she stated she was with Tier 1 over First Data so I thought I was speaking with someone from my current processor.
She stated that we were being overchaged and in order to receive a refund, I had to complete paperwork. She hustled me through the paperwork, told me to put my information in the Owner/Officer section (I am neither) and fax it back. She stayed on the phone with me while I faxed her all the requested paperwork.
The next day, I got an email from Pivotal Payments, who I never heard of. I called First Data to find out if they had made a change, they said they had not. Right then, I knew I had been scammed.
I immediately tried to call the AM Payment rep to cancel the account set up. I left numerous voice mails, I sent emails and I faxed a cancellation letter all before the start of their business day. When someone finally called me back later that day, I was told the rep was on vacation and that a Supervisor would contact me. It turns out that our account was set up the same dayI tried to cancel everything. Now they want to charge a cancellation fee for an account that was literally set up for hours.
I would not have ever changed processing companies, we are very happy with First Data. I only completed the paperwork in order to receive a refund of the overcharges and I thought I was speaking with a rep from First Data.
It turns out AM Payments records all phone conversations and the Supervisor, Amirah, said after listening to the tape she could understand why I thought I was speaking to someone from First Data. She told me Customer Service would contact me. Well that's been 2 days ago. I called the Supervisor and said that I hadn't received a call yet. She told me that Donna, from Customer Service, was "busy with other customers" but would let her know I called. Who isn't busy? I don't like to keep having to waste my time dealing with this either, but just because they haven't called me back doesn't mean I'm going to drop it.
I also called Pivotal Payments (AM Payment's processing company) and asked them to inactivate our account. I also refused to accept any deliveries from AM Payments as they were sending me a new terminal because one of ours was "non-PCI compliant and that's why we were being overcharged."
Steer clear of AM Payments.

The rep who told me the name of the company was not Thelisha Jenkins, I am trying to find out who the initial phone call was from.
