Another Amana disaster. When we bought our NEW home, we purchased all Amana appliances. All appliances were delivered and install 13 months ago. Amana, once again, will not fix a manufacturing problem. While canning tomatoes, whisps of smoke started coming out of the vent from under the stoves glasstop. Amana offered to give me an extented 6 month warranty AFTER I schedule and pay for a service call and any parts needed, because my appliance is out of warranty by 1 month.

Being very mechanically inclined, I removed the stove top to find that there were wires run right under the burner pans. Luckily the idiots at Amana/Whirlpool (Yes they are one in the same) used heat resistant wiring.
With extended use (approx 15 to 20 minutes) the wires laying against the pans began to smoke. Again, at least they are heat resistant wires.

The moron that assembled the stovetop failed to properly tuck the wiring away from under the burners.

Amana says that it is my responsibility since the 12 month factory warranty has expired.
Glad they stand behind their products. NOT!!
