Here's what happened:

I tried out amatuermatch.com, a dating website for a while, but was unsatisfied with the number of responses I was recieving. I cancelled my account, and the same day that I cancelled it, I instantly started recieving at least three e-mails a day from so called "interested members", all of whome had incomplete profiles, didn't comment on anything specific in my profile, but sounded really desperate to get ahold of me right away for a date. Also very interesting was the fact that all the messages Ive been recieving seem like they have been written by the same person, or at least in the same style.

This is basically how the scam works. They fool you into thinking that there are tons of beautiful women on the site waiting to hear from you, but once you actually renew your subscription, the interest stops.

Personally, I think it's despicable that they would try to scam guys who are just trying to make a connection with someone. Don't be fooled. Maybe there are some real people on this site, but I think it's obvious that they are not above deception in the interests of the bottom line.
