We are refinancing solely due to the harassment we receive monthly from AMC Mortgage. We recently received a Notice of Intention To Foreclose. They erroneously stated we have not made the lastest payment + late penalty.

We have this months statement showing our on-time payment. We were short $11.40. They "suspend" the entire payment until the shortage is paid.

They call incessantly asking when, where, how the payment was made, wanting to make the payment over the phone, questioning and requestioning when, where and how the payment was made.

They must not communicate because we get these phone calls for several days in a row.

When we first signed papers to refinance with AMC, they sent out paperwork with the wrong name on it. They wanted us to sign a document stating that we also were know by the erroneous name so they would not have to redo the paperwork. We declined. They charged us $3,000 more in fees and closing costs than we are currently paying to refinance.

I can understand their numerous phone calls if we didn't pay our bills, but we have always paid on time.

Their phone calls are not friendly reminders. They are beligerant and rude. I will be glad to be rid of this company. I plan to warn EVERYONE about my bad experience with AMC Mortgage.

AMC Refuses to Give Payoff Amount

#2Author of original report

We are trying to refinance to get away from this company. They refuse to cooperate with our new lending company. I called personally and they will not give the payoff amount to me unless I request it by computer and then wait at least five more days.

I talked with a Keisha Smith (sp) and she said they received more than 2000 requests per day for payoff amounts. Are there really that many people wanting to get away from AMC?
