AMDG took our money for classes, canceled them, and won't give us our money back! Atlanta Georgia
My fiancee Emory signed up for conductor training through AMDG last August. On 8/3/07 he had an interview and took their test and was accepted into the next classes beginning mid-September (possibly mid-August). We needed to get our payment (in full) to them as quickly as possible so he could be in that next group, so we paid immediately by credit card. ($4,500.00) Classes didn't start in August. Classes didn't start in September. By October we wanted a date classes were going to start or we said we were going to withdraw our money. They couldn't give us a definite date and said they were "on hold", so we submitted the paperwork to get a refund on 10/13/07.
The paperwork said it takes 8-10 weeks to process a refund, so after 8 weeks we started calling looking for our money to get an ETA. No response. After 10 weeks and still no response we started calling several times a day to see if we could "catch" someone picking up the phone. The first few calls stated they "needed to talk with the accountant". Then it came out that the contract for the railroad school was pulled back in October. If so, why is it still on their website? http://www.amdg.ws/jt2/index.asp
Then we got the sob story that they had a bunch of refunds at the same time and they may need to make payments.... Hello! They've had my money since August. I've been paying interest on a credit card and had to transfer a balance twice already. Their mismanagement of funds is not my problem. They're an accredited school and I've gotten nothing from them - I want my money now.
After I threatened to go to the news, I got a contract that basically said if we want our money, we have to shut up and they'll give it to us in installments. We can't press any charges or take any action against them or we don't get our money. We had no choice, but to sign.
The first installment date came and went - they postmarked the envelope and held the check. Each time we called, "ours" wasn't one of the ones released. We spoke with Pam Schubert @ 770-431-5106, but she wasn't able to give us any information and referred us to the president - Lance Duncan - 770-431-5100 x7309 who's never once returned a phone call. We finally got our check that was due 10 days after receiving the "signed document" we sent in on 1/31 on 2/22. ($500) OK so maybe they're going to make good - WRONG
The 2nd payment of $500 was due on or before Feb. 29th and it's now March 14th and we're not getting our calls returned and I don't think we're getting any more money. I have no idea what to do because we need this money to pay for schooling. They canceled the classes and they owe us this money!

just get a lawyer.... they are breaching the contract because they are not paying you on time. You can sue for your money, the interest, lawyer and court fee's, and also emotional distress because they are making you worry day and night about your money and how your going to pay your credit cards.... cash in
