My complaint is about AOL customer service. I had a free trial subscription for almost a year and tried cancel when it was over.

I followed their recommendations to no avail, then when I called their 1-800 number I had to hang up because I sat on hold for over 40 minutes!

Finally I resorted to getting a new account number for my Discover Card and when I did AOL started charging my new account!

Next I printed out my request to cancel and faxed it to the number provided to me (after several 30-45 minute calls to their "award winning" customer service dept) they cancelled my account!

I finally cancelled the Discover Card (another "Rip-Off report" topic) and some, not all of the "charges" were refunded!

This whole process took over a year and I am already receiving more offers from AOL for more free service (no credit card required!)
