Alright, I am not an AOL user. My mother is and a couple of other people I know are. I am a bank representative. I see people get ripped off so much by AOL every day that it almost makes me sick. It's also really disturbing that we, the bank, have had so many AOL ripoffs that we have had to add a contact phone number for AOL into our directory to connect customers to.

This rip-off report is for one of our valued banking customers who will remain nameless.

This customer had been a valued AOL customer as well for many years and had allowed his young daughter to sign up for AOL under his debit card until she was old enough to pay for the service herself. She had used it for a couple of months and then moved on to find something else and cancelled the service she had recieved.

Months later, our valued banking customer was reviewing his most recent bank statement when he discovered that AOL had been double charging him. He was recieveing a $29.95 charge on the 1st and 22nd of every month. He knew that HIS service was billed on the 1st. He was curious to find out what the 22nd was charged for.

First he called AOL. There they told him that they were unable to speak with him because it was an account not under his name. He became outraged. It may have been under his daughter's name and not his, but it was under his bank account. He then called his bank. We have agreed to file a claim against AOL for the months that he was charged after the termination of service... but beware all AOL users, they DO keep charging after terminated use!!
