America Online Customer's Requests Ignored/Continuous Billing victimized many consumers internet service

I had no idea that so many people were having the same problems with AOL as I am.

Last year I bought a Gateway computer. With it came a free 1 year subscription to AOL. Great, I thought. Approximately 6 months later They began taking the monthly fee from my checking account. Finally got that resolved. My wife signed up for their high speed dsl in July 2001. It was installed & paid for by credit card. Didn't work very well in our area. In October 2001, we had a cable hook-up installed and cancelled the high speed dsl.

They continued taking the money from my bank for that service that we no longer were using. I called them several times on this. They (of course) had no record of my cancellation, but each time. they assured me it would be cancelled immediately. HA!

Finally, I instructed my bank to not honor any debits of any kind from AOL. You can bet my subscription to AOL was cancelled then.
