Seems aol doesn't tell you if there is no local access number for dial-up connection, in one month my long distance phone company charged me over $500.00 in long distance charges for being on-line. AOL says they will not reemburse this amount even though nothing was said about it being a long distance connection charge...

Phone Bill Charges

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, March 05, 2005

Regarding your comment that AOL does not notify you about charges that can occur on your phone bill..If you read the material that came with the disk that you put in your computer it clearly states "Members may incurr telephone charges on their phone bill, depending on their location and calling plan, even during trial time." So if you had taken the time to read the material you would have seen this.

Also when you pick an access # for your computer to dial it also states that you may incurr long distance charges
