We switched to MSN due to AOL out high price, slow speed, tough to log into most of the time and always seem to get kicked off alot for no apparent reason. MSN went into effect on June 9.

On June 10, I call AOL to cancel which was plenty of time since the bill date was June 21. Got the same verbal diarrhea from thwe rep that everyone else seems to get. When the suggestion was put to me about two free months, I ademently refused. He said my last day was June 21.

June 23, I get a letter thanking me for rejoining AOL. # hours later I get a phone call thanking me for rejoining AOL.

I call on June 24 and talked with customer rep - Barry. After explaining my situation, he reverted to the same rhetoric as the first guy. I had two options Cancel now which cost me another month or take the two free months. I stated that I did not want the two extra months because I will not use it. After all his BS, he cancelled my membership which again cost me an extra month of a service I will not use.

I then asked to talk with his supervisor whose name is Tyler. Again I got the same BS as the first two morons. He even had the balls to question the fact that I did not want the two free months. I asked for the next person in charge to talk to them, however he refused. Unfortunetly my credit card service was no help. This is a rip-off scam. There are other people I work with that have similar issues with AOL. This is illegal and must be stopped. What ever I can do to help I will.

I am an AOL member who's request to cancel my account on June 10, 2003 was completely ignored. My billing date is June 12th so I was well within their 72 Hour time frame. Well on July 12, 2003 they took the money out of my account and canceled the account on July 14, 2003. I have contacted my bank and they have agreed to waive the $30.00 NSF fund and AOL said they will refund my $23.90, but after reading all of these bad reports on AOL I have also cancelled my visa check card and requested a new one. You are right something has to be done about AOL because it is flat out robbery. So whatever you do count me in!

AOL IS QUITE THE DECEPTIVE COMPANY INDEED!! NOT ONLY WILL THEY CONTINUE BILLING YOU, THEY WILL CONVENIENTLY LOSE ANY AND ALL RECORDS THAT YOU'VE CALLED TO CANCEL SO THEY CAN CONTINUE STEALING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AOL SUCKS ROTTEN WILD MONKEY a*s!

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO ....... LOG ONTO AOL AND GO TO KEYWORD BILLING. THERE IS A NUMBER TO CANCEL VIA FAX. FAX A WRITTEN REQUEST TO THAT NUMBER, AND KEEP A COPY OF THE FAX CONFIRMATION REPORT THAT PRINTS FROM YOUR FAX MACHINE. THIS WILL PROVE EXACTLY WHEN YOU REQUESTED TO CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT, AND WILL GIVE YOU GROUNDS FOR COLLECTING ANY FURTHER DISPUTED FUNDS FROM AOL.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, BRUTHA!
